Interesting piece on the adaption of Max Payne from game to movie
http://kotaku.com/5062927/the-journey-o ... -hollywood
Some quotes:
[quote]Moore was brought in to helm the project. Although the director did own an original PlayStation that he used to play Formula 1 games, he couldn’t get very far in Max Payne without dying.
“I brought in a 17-year-old to play the game for me and I watched, which is a little like paying someone to fuck your wife for you,â€

Here was an utter crap caused by my belief that The World of Warcraft is a strategy game.

I'm not sure about the move to get Ludacris in. I enjoy his music, but I just don't see him as a serious actor.

I hear ya. The more so because of him playing Bravura who was (as you know) a fat old white guy with an attitude in the games. Which Ludacris isn't.
It's even more surprising given that they seem to have followed the "look" of all the other main characters pretty rigidly.

Well, we'll see, apparently the première was yesterday.

I'm definitely looking forward to it. It debuts this Friday... Shiny and I may catch it early Sunday or something, when everyone's in church. I freakin' hate crowds.
btw, World of Warcraft is an MMO, not a strategy game. However, the old Warcrafts were strategy games, which is what World of Warcraft is based off.
I think it's cool these people actually played Max Payne... sorta. I still have the original game on my shelf as well as the second. I hope they make a reference to the flamingo.

I hope they play 'Lords and Ladies' in the background.

Its a pity they chose Mila Kunis, she looks nice, but not female enough for mona's part. And her voice makes the paint come off the wall. Thats the only negative i can come up with before seeing the movie.

Dude...it's getting SLAUGHTERED by the film critics. I'll probably go see it anyway, though...at least it's not an Uwe Boll production.

Saw Serenity at home yesterday (finally). Great movie/sci-fi atmosphere, snappy dialogues (ty Joss Whedon), fun characters...but I resented the Hollywood ending and the Mary Sue that the main character (cpt. Mal) was. His only flaw (being a bit of an asshole) even disappeared over the course of the movie. Pretty lame.
I guess it's in part because I didn't see the series to fill up the gaps. I'm planning to, though, but they don't sell it in stores here so i'd have to order it online. Bit of a hassle.
Oh and Kaylee = cute!

Yeah man, my "wtf" meter was going off the charts on the shepherd (and on the courtesane). The shepherd dies after seeing him once before in the movie, and everybody is going "oh noes, not the shepherd!". I was kinda thinking the children getting killed was slightly more traumatic, instead of some old beard-o. But maybe that's just me.
I should probably get the series from play.com or so. They don't sell it in stores over here.
