hmmm... I just played the Call of Duty demo. Honestly, I'm totally unimpressed. It's like Medal of Honor: Allied Assault with less realistic graphics. And the level was way too short. I mean, the working as a unit thing was pretty cool, but (like most of these games) everything's just too staged and unrealistic. Plus, if this level's this short, what's that bode for the rest of the game? Is this gonna be another one I can finish in one day and never pick up again?
Anyway, yea, I don't think I'll be buying this one, at least not based on the demo.

now that's a game I will buy. OpFlash has got to be the most realistic game I've ever played.

Eh?! That was a DEMO mission.... what do you expect - besides - I thought it rocked. I played the demo to death - I can almost complete it on the hardest difficulty blindfolded.
I'm definitely getting this - and I thought it was way better than MOH

I can't see either how the graphics can be tought less than MoH's... Granted it's not photorealism, but OP:F wasn't exactly the summum of graphical realism either.
Besides, we all know that a game like CoD (lots of fires, explosions, many NPC's on screen) is impossible to run with a supa-dupa realistic engine, you'd need a pc the size of an airplane to work that shit.
Anyways...we'll see how it turns out...in the meantime, an excerpt from an interview with a guy from the developers:
"the engine can handle over 200.000 polygons at a time, which allows us to have about 300 soldiers at once onscreen. That's 10 (!) times more than most other shooter out there."
The game prolly won't last VERY long in SP no..but then again, if you're an expierenced gamer you can beat about any game quickly, heck, i finished BG2 in one (work)week. So we'll see
P.S. the developpers of CoD are the same team that developped MoH, but they left EA cos of some trouble. Blah.

In relation to your comment about the OFP graphics, what you said is true. But they still come off effectively?
Having said that, i know another game that will make you cream your pants. Hidden and Dangerous II.

Yeah...it uses an improved Mafia engine, and if you've played Mafia, you know it's time to say "***********************"

lol...anyways...i finished CoD and i must say: it 0wnz0rs supreme. With the noted lack of game lenght tho. I finished the game on "regular" (say, medium) in two evenings. Now, i'm an experienced gamer if i may say so , but not even then...and i'm not even "experienced" in FPS. Blah.
But apart from that: a big WOW. The part where you storm the banks of Stalingrad is awe-inspiring...there's literally hundreds of soldiers in sight. Most of them getting mowed down by nazi rifles. But i'm telling you, the thrill you feel when storming beween the mortar bombings, Stuka and german machinegun fire, with tons of your fellow running next to you, often unarmed ot with only a soviet banner in their hands....amazing. Not to mention the rush on the red square. The Soviet part of the campaign is by far the best, as it should be really. Battle of Stalingrad is and was where the germans were given the shaft, wether western war historians like it or not. blah
All in all...i got a fuzzy feeling inside when i planted the flag on the Reichstag. So great game, but very short. Unless you have mp ambitions you might be sorely disappointed and thus better wait for budget verson.
NOT ONE STEP BACK!! erh..sorry, having withdrawal symptoms from stalingrad battles

I haveto agree with Satis here. MOHAA (SP) was toss. The gameplay was predictable and dull, graphics were nice although not a hard job.
However, i remember having a good old chuckle in the MP side.
Rinox: I would never wholly trust the word of magazines whether they are "Independant" or not.
As for WWII shooters, i think there are too many similar copies of this genre. No matter how good they seem to be, they all are same to me.
Perhaps OpFlashII will allow for an Epic WWII mod?
