Post ATTENTION (not a spambot :P)
Apparently, with the Thanksgiving sale, Valve are giving 30 people the top 5 games on their steam wishlist every day!

http://store.steampowered.com/get/

So...I suggest you list them ASAP and let's hope for the miniscule chance that one of us among the lucky peeps :)

Yay for Valve!

I got my list up. It's a mix of games I defo want to buy (The Witcher 2), games I wouldn't buy out of principle (Assassin's Creed 2, Ubi DRM), a piece of new DLC for Mafia 2 (Joe's Adventures) and games that are expensive and I wouldn't buy unless they were on a supersale (the rest).

1) The Witcher 2
2) Hunted: The Demon Forge (upcoming co-op action hack & slasher, looks fun)
3) Assassin's Creed 2
4) Ego Draconis (Divinity 2)
5) Mafia 2 DLC: Joe's Adventures

It appears that you need at least 10 games on your wishlist in total to be eligible for the lottery, btw. Better add some fluff.

Direct2Drive is having some massive sales. They promise to match any other price (difference to be provided in d2d credit), and 1 out of every 5 purchases is free. Free! FREE! Regardless of size. The 1 in 5 thing is good through New Year's.

Thanks for the Steam heads up...adding my games now...

That D2D sale is almost as insane as the steam one! Imagine feeling lucky and placing a 200-dollar order for 10 games or so, and getting it free. :) Seems like the actual discounts so far aren't for the eurozone, though. Probably having to do with Thanksgiving not being celebrated here anyway.

I hope everyone has filled out their steam wishlist with 10 games by now? Just a reminder, it'd be silly not to participate in this without having to sign up for anything or giving away more privacy than we already do on steam. :P

Is anyone else finding the Steam interface (or web equivalent) for browsing the game store, totally infuriating?

lol.... infuriating no. Not as good as it could be, yes... but also not as bad as it could be. I think it's decent, far better than what many stores have online.

i'm guessing no one of our merry little band has won 5 games yet? :P DO we still have one day of sales left? I'd think not but since it says 'from the 24th until the 29th' I'm not sure if that's including the 29th or not.

Valve has updated the "get" page with all the games won from wishlists so far:

http://store.steampowered.com/get/

(scroll down)

Overall, a surprisingly good mix of games. Just the #1 sticking out like a sore thumb. Ugh. I spit on PC gamers who buy CoD games (without them being at a massive discount). But seeing as they didn't spend any money on it I probably shouldn't in this case. :P

Figured I'd use this thread! More Valve awesomeness!

http://store.steampowered.com/treasurehunt

Since I don't own RUSE, Poker Night at the Inventory or Chime I can only enter one 'ticket' today...let's hope for some games I own tomorrow!

Also, take note of the small print:

Quote:
Eligibility: Entry open to any user holding a Steam account in good standing, with a Wish List containing at least ten (10) single game titles.

Quote:
Grand Prize Drawing: To enter, a user must complete 10 or more objectives above by the end of December 19, 2010, and then be logged into Steam at some time on December 20, 2010 (12:01am PST – 11:59 PM PST).

Imagine being the grand winner. Picking a 100 games. I wouldn't even know how. I hope you don't have to do it all at once, cause if it's spread over a few years then fuck yes. If it's all RIGHT NOW...yeah. Maybe you can give them to friends, who knows.

Yea, 100 games is a freaking lot. I hold no illusions that I'll win, though. I never win, well, anything, really. Nothing that takes luck, at least.
