Engineer update in DA HOUSE BITCHEEEEES!

http://www.teamfortress.com/engineerupdate

Also, a limited 100 golden wrenches are dropping randomly upon a succesful craft - any craft. So go out there and craft any shit you can craft dudes! I spent some time yesterday crafting pretty much everything I don't use, but didn't get lucky (it's a super long shot clearly). Now I'm contemplating crafting away the items I actually use (buff banner, sandich, natasha, etc) just to have another shot. Let's be honest, the wrenches are a one time thing, and I can re-find all my other shit later. :P

Wrench drop watch here

http://www.teamfortress.com/engineerupdate/wrenchlog/

The steam forums are on FIRE with whiny losers who are incensed at only being offered a very small random chance at winning a golden wrench. I think it was Valve's idea of a joke, and I love it.

CRAFT TIME!

Guess what game I'll be playing?

TF2 should be interesting over the next week or two with a ridiculous number of engineers running around.

Haha, even if you don't care you should smelt some excess weapons in the hope that you land it and make Ocram cry. :D

Also, I'm pretty sure this event is the prelude of a trading system. They're emptying backpacks all over the board...

I'm too lazy to start crafting myself. And yeah, this sounds like "we try to empty every backpack so we can implement trading or some other thing".

or maybe "we're going to empty everyone's backpack so people can't just craft the new engie things and have to wait for drops".

I'm not sure I care enough about a golden wrench to craft away all my crap.

There's gonna be trading soon anyway...that's why they're emptying the accounts. Imho. :) µ

And the wrench turns people into gold statues on death...but hey. :P

57 wrenches found...don't see any of you guys among the lucky ones yet, good. :P Second unlock was revealed: the wrangler!

http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Wrangler

Basically it allows the engi to direct his sentry's fire and increases its resistance, but it also stops firing autonomously and is diabled for three seconds when he switches from the wrangler to another weapon. might be interesting!

This article has a great view on the situation

http://gaming.icrontic.com/article/team ... en-wrench/

Quote:
Amidst this gold rush is a hidden darkness. Gamers are rapidly hitting the weekly item drop limit thanks to their continual attempts and longevity in play time. Furthermore, understanding that crafting is a necessary component in the acquisition of Golden Wrenches, these players are crafting every last item they have in their backpack. It is not uncommon to find gamers who have crafted it all away, leaving no functional weapon unlocks at their disposal. Many players have found themselves locked away in a dark box of wrench madness—having hit the item drop cap and crafted away all of their belongings, they have effectively taken themselves out of the Golden Wrench running in the earliest stages. They have become hobos of the Team Fortress 2 world.

...I have barely weapons left. The ones I do have can't be combined for crafting. I need to game tonight. Need more items. Need more metal TO SACRIFICE TO THE WRENCH GOD.

(my backpack...it's like a ghosttown. Check my sweet as shit soldier drill sergeant hat tho :P http://www.tf2items.com/profiles/76561197970486742 )

Mine had 93 items too up until two weeks ago. Then I crafted a hat. Then I crafted everything else I had.

Then I cried.

;) You have a lot of hats for someone who doesn't play THAT often J!

Post Re: Team Fortress 2
I even lost some hats probably, because i had some bug where items kept dropping every 5 seconds or so. So my inventory was full, and i deleted everything i recieved as a new drop. Afterwards the bug got turned back, so i lost all drops i shouldn't have recieved + the ones i deleted. I'm missing out on a scout hat + demo hat at least.

But i don't care that much about hats anyway (if at all).

Oh and i got quite some playtime in TF2 over the time though.
