I don't know if that says more about your teammates' negligence or your 1337 overwatch protection skills Peltz. Probably a little bit of both. ;)

I know I kinda blew last night for L4D2, and tonight I'll be on a date so depending on how that goes I might be online in the late evening or not at all. Saturday, however, is totally cool.

Let's take Saturday as a definite and tonight as a 'maybe' then. Saturday 20h my time? 21h Peltz, 13h Satis and Shiny?

i'm downloading this game now thanks to ox's shout regarding 25% off.

I'll be up for a game this weekend, so get yourselves into a self-protective, FF-aware state of mind.

Had a blast yesterday, thanks for the game dudes (and dudette)! I lurv the melee weapons, especially the katana - it feels way 'lighter' and faster to wield than most other melee weapons. The axe has a great arc, but is slow, and the crowbar, bat and cricket bat are ok but don't seem to hit hard enough. :P

We did great up until the finale where we struggled for 4-5 tries to get the tactic and coordination right. I love how they re-invented the finales and panic events, though, even if everything got a lot tougher. I can only imagine what a nightmare the finale must be on expert. :o

Some highlights: Derf going bananas with his chainsaw, Derf setting a witch on fire with me slicing it with my katana while Satis was putting sniper rounds into her, me startling a witch and Satis blocking her path only to find himself being clawed (and killed by her), me attacking a witch with a katana and getting raped  , and last but not least Derf firing his grenade launcher against our backs.

Truly great game last night guys!!! Some hilarious highlight momments for me were:

- Ox battling the enflamed witch on the elevator with his katana.
- Ox strafing right in front of me as I launched a grenade, into his back at point blank range
- Shiny deciding to jump down to the ground floor, killing herself
- Shiny generally hanging off ledges 80% of the time
- Satis getting miffed
- Surrounding myself in a horde, going crazy with the chainsaw, and ox providing close katana support
- Molly'ing the target range
- A true spastic moment from all of us when we just kept opening and closing the same door
- Satis losing his gnome, again!
- Oh yeah, and ox and I going in on the witch, katana + fireaxe. Ox getting incapped.

hehe, good game. It was fun. Completing these campaigns on expert is going to be a bit rough.

Encountered this error while playing a few days ago. I wanted to post this in the l4d2 forum but the admins apparently need a week to activate an account.

lots of people reporting that error, usually in scavenge / survivor modes. There's a long thread about it on the Steam forums, but no fix. Some people mention doing a file integrity check, but others mention that doesn't work, so I dunno what to tell you.

I think my crashes in L4D2 as a server host were similar. Gave me some vague runtime error and CTD.

We set up another game yesterday with me, Derf, Satis and Shiny because Peltz wasn't around to play, and man, Dark Carnival is an amazing campaign. :) The rollercoaster panic event, the gnome, the clowns, the finale...dang. It's just perfect when it comes to atmosphere and kicks. But it IS hard...the finale raped us over and over again. :( Well, actually, a spitter did. First time we were going great on the top of the stage tower, until a spitter made us split up near the end of the finale and I got jockeyed as I was running towards the chopper. :(

Second time the spitter got us after 4 seconds. Ah well. It's clear that our skills haven't been finetuned to the new campaigns yet. I'm wondering if maybe we should just play them on normal for now, or at least the finales? Until we up our game a bit. :)

Oh and lol @ Derf chainsawing the witch. I won the strongman contest at the fair, Satis lost his gnome halfway on the rollercoaster and I LURV my ninjasword. And then there was that badass long hallway in the stadium where we kept getting double-teamed by hordes of SI. :(

I think it's more down to practice. Understanding the general sequence and magnitude of shit that's gonna go down. That finale was just a big bowl of wholegrain rape, especially the ever-spawn corridor that we allegedly should have cleared in the first place. That was rather ... odd.

The rest was same old fun fun fun. I love the agent smith gun to bits! :D

Yea, I love the desert eagle. Definitely my favorite beyond dual pistols and even all the melee weapons. That thing is brutal.

I'm up for playing the campaigns on normal... it'll let us get used to the maps better, plus I may finally get my goddamned gnome to the evac chopper. Though I may just play it on easy to accomplish that, we'll see.

As for the finale, I think we just need to figure out a good place to set up at and we'll be good. The tower is too exposed, I think... perhaps where we started out at, at one of the side sound booths. I'd be tempted with the stage, but it's pretty open. I also think I'll switch to adrenaline shots from now on... bringing someone up with adrenaline coursing through my system is far easier. Ditto for healing myself with a kit.

The lower tower is doable, you need to stand on the rails so the spit wouldnt burn you. The higher tower has too many blind spots which make it badly defendable.
