Post Hyperlinking
When someone opens a topic about something and makes a hyperlink to something regarding the topic, what do you feel?

Happy to follow the link, obviously. That's what the net is about, getting new information. Unless it's spam, or something totally ridiculous.

I think the correct wording for this question should be, what do I think. I dont feel anything when someone post a link. It not like I have an anxiety attack or feel depressed.

To me, if your posting about a topic and dont provide a link then its not really crediable. Also, sometimes, some of you guys I have know idea WTF your talking about so the link is helpful.

Now, if you just post a link with no subtance or info from link then Im reluctant to click it.

I'm affraid that I sit on the fence, reason being it depends on what the topic is about.

yea, I'll follow the link if I'm interested. If the topic doesn't interest me much, I pretty much just blow the link off. That's fine... I assume most people do the same to my links.

Alternately, I may just link in to the first page, scan what's there real quick, and then leave again without really exploring it or anything.

Im curious, why would you feel bothered by a link? Its not like a hyperlink cause emotional stress or something. It takes 1 click.

Unless there is a lot of feedback on a hyperlink I don't go there most people find crap amusing. Or it is linked by someone I actually somewhat respect - which those are few and far between.

Well, the thing is, its more than one click. Usually you click (open a new window) wait for it to load, maybe get bombarded by pornographic pop ups (incase its a Rinox hyperlink), then scroll, read in a layout that totallu different to the forum and then get out when youre done. Im just lazy maybe?

Yes. I didnt know scrolling what such a burden. Derf you might wanna read this article if scrolling down the page is to much for you.

http://www.wsvn.com/news/articles/local/C50275/ <-- is for referance

Quote:
STUART -- A 480-pound Martin County woman has died after emergency workers tried to remove her from the couch where she had remained for about six years.

Gayle Laverne Grinds died yesterday, after a failed six-hour effort to dislodge her from the couch in her home. Workers say the home was filthy, and Grinds was too large to get up from the couch to even use the bathroom.

A preliminary autopsy on the the four-foot, ten-inch woman lists the cause of death as "morbid obesity." But officials want to know more about the circumstances inside the home.
