Alright so opinion is divided massively on Linkin Park, but you can't say whether it's bad music or not cause it's just opinion.
At least they do write and make their own music, whereas most people who get to no.1 don't, so for that achievement i think the did pretty well

But for whoever said linkin parks lyrics are awesome, you really must be listening to different songs to the rest of us, cause they are just plain shite...
i quite like linkin park, but the lyrics are all about teen angst etc. etc. not really the best

How much have you listened to? Some of its about crappy relationships (well most actually but what band isnt?), some is about domestic violence, some is about not doing like everyone says just to fit in, etc, etc.

I agree completely with your comment about how we cant say its good or bad music though. I mean I daresay Britney thinks her songs are good  just coz no one else does... lol

All her fans do, and all those fans prefer to see her payback and dance on stage instead of singing.
But the mass is stupid... just as Limpin Park.

Heh...crappy relationships? The bands I listen to don't write a whole lot about that. For instance.

Cradle of Filth (love then) mainly talks about drinking blood, murder and destruction.

Tool ... anal sex, sodomy, idiocy, erm... I'm sure there's more, but my mind has gone mildly blank.

ermm...yea.

anal sex eh satis...

lemme guess, you listen to it when Pig comes round? ;)

as for the mass being stupid arathorn, i HAVE to quote one Mr Terry Pratchett now - "The IQ of a mob is that of its most stupid member divided by the total number in the mob."

Not quite word for word, but its very true.

i've got all 3 albums, and i reckon teen angst covers crappy relationships, domestic violence and wanting/not wanting to fit in, pretty damn well

Probably Outkast's "Hey ya". As you would have guessed, i'm not an r&b-ish person (LOL), but that song is just plain awesome.

Tool is ok..especially when they go on about idiocy. Eulogy (on Aenima) is rox0rs. Not a huge Tool fan tho.

Tool suck monkey balls. Anyway, on Britney Getting to number one, i meant music that ins't voted for by a large amount of retards (meaning 12 year old girls)

And linkin park lyrics are awesome. The wording is great, ox already knows, but one of my fave lyrics is

The moon shines with the light from the sun
But the sun doesn't give the life to the moon,
assuming the moon is gunna owe it one.

wtf? How is that great lyrics?

In a pale azured dawn like Ligeia reborn
I tore free of my sleep - sepulchre
On the sea misted lawn where stone figures, forlorn
Lamented the spectre of Her
Bewildered and weak, yet with passion replete
I hungered for past overtures
The curse of unrest and her ardent caress
Came much more than my soul could endure....

Was that a number one? Damn I also can't remember the last time I looked at some hitlist.
But the best part was the video IMO.

I like Satis' lyrics more. I think Mole's lyric (probably some Limpin Park skit) is written by someone who badly wants to be a poet but is just mumbling.

Well, i think satis lyrics are by someone who needs some real help. And the lyric from linkin park, i like it because it's true. Everyone in this world just does shit assuming that someday that shit is gunna get paid back to them, it's screwy.

Don't remember that song, but i hate R&B completely, i don't really like Anything at all in R&B, not even very fond of linkin parks R&B style remix album.

Outkast is not really R'nB, mostly Hip Hop, although their last album is kinda odd.

I mean that as in I think tool suck (from the things that i have heard, not that i'd remember if i heard of it) but i'd listen to them over that garbage. That shit's as bad as britney spears.

The lyrics I quoted are from Cradle of Filth. :P Anyway...I believe they have more artistic merit than the ones quoted by Mole. On the other hand, one man's van Gogh is another man's Andy Warhol.
