Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
I thought i'd give the basketball game a shot. It's probably been since NBA Jam (that's like 1996 or so) that i played a basketball game. Seems like i haven't installed games for a while either i haven't paid much attention, because 99 GB seems a LOT to me.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
And to be able to play it with my Switch controller, it turns out i have to launch Epic Games through ... Steam. What a mess.

I'm assuming that's the pro controller J? I hadn't even considered trying to use that with the PC for anything

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Yes it is. Sports games with keyboard + mouse is generally pretty meh.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
I'll have to bear it in mind, I tend to stick to keyboard and mouse for most games but some I prefer the pad for (like RDR2) and usually use my Xbox controller.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Ordinarily I'd agree but after a year of playing RDR2 on the Xbox I knew I'd only get confused trying to convert the controls into keyboard in my brain. Brain no worky so good no more! hehe

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
I've actually been eyeing getting an Xbox controller for PC. Been playing a lot of Dirt lately and keyboard is not optimal for that. I'd like to get an elite (because if I'm going to buy in I might as well go big) but those appear to be rare right now.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
I definitely recommend it. I used it for GTA V as well, much easier driving on a pad than a keyboard. I only have the bog standard controller that came with the Xbox One so can't comment on whether there's a difference between it and the elite but it works well for me (about the only thing I like about the Xbone...)

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
ALL the open world games on sale today! So I grabbed Ark £9 down from £45, not bad. I clicked on the Racing category, apparently Farming Simulator 19 is in there... I think someone needs to review their categories.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
I'm burning out on Dirt 4. I may just quit without beating it completely. I picked up Hitman 2's full set of missions. That's always fun stuff. Also picked up Project Wingman, which is a flight combat game, because those are awesome. Oh, and Assassin's Creed: Odyssey too, via that open world sale. I'm probably set for months now.
