Lol, nice. Some day I hope to visit Tallinn. Honestly I'd love to do a 2-4 week tour of the eastern European states. And yea... I totally watched it on a "streaming" service. *cough*

Watched John Wick. Total wank. I could have logged out a turd into a bucket and produced a better story.

Watched Tenet. Numbing diatribe. Non sensical parody. An insult to film making and the audience.

Lol yeah, loads. I mean I’m not really a big movie or TV watcher to be honest. But I really enjoyed the new Blade Runner. I think the further back into the early noughties and 90’s we go, the more good films there are. 80’s and 70’s too. What I find in films from, say, 2005 onwards, is that they become increasingly shitter and shitter. I haven’t looked into it much, but my feeling is that Hollywood has been dying a death for a while. The whole comic book era of films is testament to a complete loss of creative and artistic talent in modern film making. Catering only to man-children. I mean, seriously, how many fucking iterations of super hero movies do we actually need? I thought The Watchmen was pretty cool, but the Marvel stuff is obviously just there to make money.

Oh, The Revenant I quite liked. The Road too. Master and Commander I think is brilliant. To name a few modern ones.

Gotta agree with Derf here. All my favourite films are pre-2000 and I could watch them over and over again. Flight of the Navigator, Twins, The Three Amigos, Galaxy Quest, The Emperor's New Groove, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Uncle Buck, Calamity Jane... I've never been a big TV/film person, my parents had to force me to sit down and watch a film with them on a Saturday evening when I was a kid and I'm still pretty much the same so really most of the films we watch are super hero ones or Harry Potter. I do like the John Wick films but they're possibly an exception to the rule there. I enjoy most of the super hero films but spend half the time thinking they're all very similar or the plot lines are basically "because plot". They're fun if you don't want something with any kind of thinking in it ;) Plus after what, 8+ years of them it's getting a bit old. The odd one stands out but most are formulaic.

Always found it weird how I'm so picky with TV and movies yet I'll read virtually anything, no matter how crap (I draw the line at 50 shades).

Oh man, I tried re-watching Flight of the Navigator and it was terrible. :p Just saying... those rose glasses looking back aren't so rosey sometimes.

I watched Soul, an animated movie about a jazz musician dying... it was surprisingly not as depressing as I was expecting. I rewatched the Animatrix... omg, I forgot how good this was. If you haven't seen it, I demand you do. :) The Gentlemen was a pretty decent Guy Ritchie movie.. if you like his previous movies (Snatch, lock stock and two smoking barrels) it's worth a watch.

I've rewatched Flight recently so my rosey glasses are still very rosey!

We finally saw Inside Out over Christmas, it's really good. Explains so much (including why you get an annoying song stuck in your head every day!)

Shiny and re-watched Lord of the Rings this weekend. All 3 movies, and the extended edition of each... so 12 hours. They're still pretty good, though much of the CG hasn't aged particularly well. It was also a solid reminder of how Peter Jackson makes movies that are way too freaking long. Still, even if they're long winded, they're still pretty good movies, so it was fun to revisit.

It's been years since I watched them. My friend regularly watches the extended cuts (and all the behind the scenes stuff), I don't know how he has the patience for it! I remember being highly disappointed with the first 2 hobbit films (not bothered with the third) because you can see the huge drop in budget. The CGI is all so obvious in comparison to LotR.

You still can't beat Jurassic Park (the original) for the CGI.

Funny, I watched the first 2 Hobbit movies as well and skipped the 3rd. They were so terrible. For one, TOO DAMNED LONG... the Hobbit was like a 200 page book. How do you turn that into 3 freaking movies? Besides that, the action scenes were so stupidly over the top my eyes almost got stuck rolled back into my head. So yea... I hear you. The Hobbit sucks. Do does King Kong. So does pretty much every Peter Jackson movie ever made.

We re-watched Up In Smoke yesterday, a Cheech and Chong movie. That movie is still funny after all these years.

My thoughts exactly! I've never read the Hobbit (forced myself through Lord of the Rings, do not like his writing style at all) so I'm not hugely invested. The main reason I didn't watch the third film was it came out while I was in France and Niall went to see it with his friend. He knows I don't care about seeing most stuff at the cinema anyway and his conclusion was 'it's shit' so it wasn't worth forcing me along when I got home or even watching it on TV. I remember not minding King Kong but it was nothing special (the newer one though I really loved).

I've never watched a Cheech and Chong movie, I might have to look for it. Honestly my only reference to them is from Nickelback's song "This Afternoon"

I've been revisiting Monty Python this week. I watched them years ago, probably when I was about 17. Re-watched "The Holy Grail" and "The Life of Brian" this week. I'd forgotten just how stupid and funny they are.

I forgot to say a few months ago, if you have Netflix check out "The Ballad of Buster Scuggs". It's a bunch of shorts set in the Wild West by the Coen Brothers. Some are light hearted and fun, others are quite dark. Well worth a watch (and being shorts you can just watch one or two at a time if you like)

Cheech and Chong is hilarious, but mostly about stoner culture, so that may or may not be meaningful to you. You may still find it funny even if it's not something you're familiar with. On a positive not, Up In Smoke is like 80 minutes long, so it's not a huge investment. Monty Python! I really liked the Holy Grail and Life of Brian. Meaning of Life was pretty decent as well. I'm not such a fan of their tv show... the humor is a bit too dry and/or slapstick. But the movies are great.

I did actually watch The Ballad of Buster Scruggs based off someone's recommendation at work. I liked it, even the musical part. Which is surprising... I hate freaking musicals. Some great, dark humor though.
