Re: What are you playing now?
Ah yea, the Baba Yaga quest may be the best part of that game. It's not a bad game by any means, but it could've been so much better.
I bought Shiny and I Baldur's Gate 3 recently, which appears to be Steam only. It's still in early access, but we both are enjoying it so far. I read a pretty negative review prior to purchase which made me a bit wary, but I think it was off base. So far the game is pretty cool. On the other hand, we're both still level 2... so who knows.

Yeah really enjoyed it. I mean it was obvious who the witch actually was after finding maybe 4 documents but still good. I just got to the native's village so not very far in the actual story (think my save file says 35% now) but that first view of it is wow! I know the third one is supposed to be the weakest story-wise as Rhianna Pratchett didn't write on that one so it doesn't quite follow.
You'll have to do a BG3 review! I plan to get it when it's cheap (and fully released) so it'll be interesting to get views of people I know.

Re: What are you playing now?
Tomb Raider is on my "to play" list for when I get my desktop PC back. Incidentally, I asked my former neighbour to go in the apartment and box it up, and to hand it over to the courier. Gonna cost me 200 euros to ship it over but with the current covid situation it's pretty clear I won't be going back to Malta anytime soon to pick up the PC myself. Held out hope for this holiday but it only got worse so decided against it. So blowing money on international shipping it is. At least I'll be able to play some modern games over the winter without worrying about my laptop blowing up. The poor thing has been performing admirably but it's lately acting a bit dodgy when playing some more GPU intensive games. I am 1000% stoked for BG3 but I don't want to play it before the full release....so no (major) spoilers please. I did hear from other friends who got it that it's really, really good though. Apparently the game reacts to your actions in tons of different ways, so you can play twice while making some radically different choices/seeing different things. Sounds great.

Re: What are you playing now?
I'm at the tail end of my library of games that I can play on this laptop, and am currently working my way through Lego Lord of the Rings. It's a fun ride and well made, if a bit repetitive at times. But top notch lighthearted gaming. It uses the license really well, too.
Just bought Phantasmagoria, Over the Alps, Outlast 2 and DLC for Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Should tie me over for another week or so. Hope my desktop gets here soon though!

Re: What are you playing now?
Shiny and I haven't really played BG3 since I last talked about it, so no more info. From what I've read, there are a lot of bugs and unfinished things, but again, I've had no personal experience. We shall see how things play out.
Still playing Ark. the plan is to wrap up the Island map (the one that comes with the game) and then op over to a new (paid) map. I'll talk about that when it happens. At this point Shiny and I are pretty bored, so hopefully that'll happen sooner rather than later.

Re: What are you playing now?
Get playing bucko, I need to get some semi-objective feedback on the state and quality of the BG3 early access. I already have 2 other friends who are doing so and they are very positive.

Re: What are you playing now?
Yea, still haven't played BG3. Steam had a sale on Ark that includes a bunch of the additional paid maps, so the three people we play with plus the two of us bought it. Since it's a new platform, we had to create new toons and level them, but when you've got all the tamed dinosaurs and the tech already built out, that's not too hard. Yesterday we beat the dragon boss on the hardest difficulty and only lost 3 out of 20 dinosaurs. Since we're using new toons we'll need to re-beat the other two bosses we already beat on their hardest difficulties (not that hard), redo the caves (mostly not that hard), and then fight the final overseer boss. After that we'll be moving to a new map.
Err...yea. That's about that. I really should finish up Fallout 4 too.
Btw, it's still on sale if you guys are curious. This is the version we bought:

Re: What are you playing now?
Finished Watch Dogs Legion. Bargain buy only or like me get it through uplay+. Liked: Main story, some songs in-game radios played. Average: Driving. Weak: Legion, gadgets, exploration
Legion: I spent hours looking for recruit that had not-annoying voice over. Also the slang and speech is just horrible for non-brit. Most of the skills people have are useless. Only the damage resistance one I made good use of. So in the end I played three people and they all had the same skills. One got killed in accidental suicide. I blew up a battery pack accidentally while in a car and the car went boom along with my agent. Also 99% of people look ugly.
Gadgets: Only needed the spider bots and non-lethal smg and pistol. With only 3 gadget slots the others were not used at all.
Exploration: To unlock gadgets a resource called Tech is needed and this tech is acquired mostly through exploring the city. Since most gadgets are useless so is exploration.
I'm now making my way through AC: Odyssey on that same Uplay fee. Feels like a much better game. At least for now.

Re: What are you playing now?
Cheers for that review Peltz. Niall has played 1 & 2 and was already thinking he'd wait for Legion to come down. The concept sounds amazing but it doesn't seem like it has played out quite as they intended. On the accents/slang part, based on the few trailers and brief gameplay video I've seen, it's annoying even for a Brit. We're all cockney or super posh apparently.
I haven't played Odyssey yet, still not really on board with my beloved AC being changed to a mediocre rpg. Niall did though and did all the DLC (PS4) and spent nearly 300 hours on it! He's a massive completionist and stealther in everything though. A friend did it and 'only' spent 200 hours on it so you should get your moneys-worth at least. I've tried Origins and it was meh. Odyssey looks much better. Valhalla though is seriously putting me off. It looks beautiful but they've changed all the gameplay yet again and you have to start everything from your settlement which to my mind discourages exploration. Except you do have to explore if you want any skills because you don't get them from levelling up. Every interview I've heard from the devs just sounds like they're making it all up as they go along.
Stop making ARK sound fun Satis. I keep being tempted but every time I am something puts me off. That's a damn good deal though.

Re: What are you playing now?
lol... I can probably talk our server admin into allowing you onto the server if you want in. Not having to compete with others (even in PVE) makes the game much more interesting, in my opinion. It is, however, very addicting, so if you're trying to avoid that, I get it. Just shout if you change your mind.

Re: What are you playing now?
Cheers Satis, I'll have a think. That's part of it for sure. I don't want the usual online dicks to ruin the experience but I also feel if I was 100% cut off from everyone that's stealing away half the fun of the game. I do love having animal minions.

Animal minions everywhere! Virtual or real You made a mistake. After you finish your other games and Red Dead Redemption 2 you might hop on Ark.
