Oh dear god, what in the flying fuck happened. How on earth did that absolute garbage win. I mean the stuff Satis posted is like an angel choir or something in comparison to that.

What is most striking (and annoying) to me is how everytime people here are surprised Belgium generally doesn't score well. Not exactly sure how the televoting works, but i imagine people are mostly voting for a country if they're originating from it and are now living abroad. Or voting for the neighbours. I don't understand why we don't just stop participating.

Only seen flashes of the winning song, 'garbage' seems a fitting description. Supposedly there's a whole message in the song regarding #metoo and such, but if part of your act is chicken noises, you're not in the 'genious' section. Although they did win.

I think this was more Satis's style though (comparatively). Pretty good live performance for being some obscure Hungarian band, too.



@ J: I think Belgium's song was half decent, but they were unlucky to be in the (very) strong first semifinal. If they had been in the second one, I'm sure they would have made it.

Alright, I went ahead and googled those other two. Yep... it's Eurovision. Euroversally terrible. It's all good... if we all liked the same music, the world would be so much more boring.

Hahaha don't confuse my enthusiasm for Eurovision and its songs for my general music taste though (or not too much, anyway). It's more of a...best of the worst kind of thing.
