Dragon Age 3: Inquisition
Known it was in the works for ages, but finally officially announced: http://www.dragonage.com/inquisitionThe only points really "revealed" The next game will be called Dragon Age III: Inquisition. We won't be talking about the story of the game today. Though you can make some guesses from the title. This game is being made by a lot of the same team that has been working on Dragon Age since Dragon Age: Origins. It's composed of both experienced BioWare veterans and talented new developers. We are working on a new engine which we believe will allow us to deliver a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices, and more customization. At PAX East, we talked about armor and followers… Yeah, that kind of customization. We've started with Frostbite 2 from DICE as a foundation to accomplish this.

Re: Dragon Age 3: Inquisition
I just hope they take the reaction to DA2 to heart and go back to DA1 at least partially. Of all the people I know who played and liked DA1, almost no one even bothered to buy DA2 because it looked so crap compared to the original. That's quite the effort if you think about it, alienating people who actually liked the first part of the saga and were invested in it by pitching completely wrong design choices on almost every point.

Re: Dragon Age 3: Inquisition
DA 1 was awesome. The expansion wasn't so great. Everything about DA2 looked so bad I didn't bother. They need to work really hard at DA 3 if they expect to get my attention again. It's too bad, too... they could've had a Baldur's Gate on their hands.

Yeah, I'm kinda hoping Project Eternity will be the game that will bring RPG's back to party-based epic storylines ( and intricate character building/combat) after the bizzarre turn the DA saga took.

Re: Dragon Age 3: Inquisition
Niall has found some quote somewhere (I haven't seen it) that they're inspired by Skyrim and want a more open world again than #2. So fingers crossed. I did enjoy DA2 but #1 was far superior

Re: Dragon Age 3: Inquisition
Yea, I know you actually liked DA #2, and that's certainly your prerogative. It just didn't seem to accentuate the things I liked. I hadn't heard about the Skyrim influence, but if it's true, then that's good at least. It's that wide open freedom that really makes a game like that totally epic to me.

Yeah doesn't look too bad. Also, Morrigan.

Leaked pre-alpha gameplay, not sure how long the vid will stay up. Looks interesting, liking a lot of it, they blatantly stole some stuff from Skyrim and the graphics do look to be going more cartoony again. Mixed feelings at the moment. http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/11/12/d ... e-surfaces

Got it. Loving it. Only level 8 and found a dragon. It was clearly scared of my level 8-ness. Running the game on Ultra graphics and it looks amazing.

Re: Dragon Age 3: Inquisition
Yea, the reviews I saw for this game were overwhelmingly positive. I'm very glad to see that. I'll pick it up eventually, though with my game backlog it'll probably be awhile. Still... very cool. I'm glad they decided to do what they did.

Re: Dragon Age 3: Inquisition
Yeah it's definitely good, a little glitchy so maybe wait til after Christmas at the least, see if they do patches. Nothing gamebreaking though (I did get stuck in a menu at one point as couldn't click anything so had to quicksave/quickload with the F keys and it worked fine after that)
Found a dragon that wanted to fight the other day. It was level 12, I was 9, got a ton of awesome screenshots and while it killed me I did get it down to about 2/3rds of its health before getting horribly massacred.
