Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Each core is worth 2k so that's 48k if you lose no cores. So you have to score 52k to win the gold. Now the idle score growth is a percentage of your current available points, so ideally you want hold off building but then again you must build since the waves get harder and harder. So build that command as early as possible to get the extra 45% into idle growth and upgrade, build as they get tougher. Remember that building and upgrading a tower cost a lot more you get from selling it and the final score also includes the value from your towers if sold, so it doesn't make sense to sell the towers in the end. Well there is a buffer time between the slaughter of the last alien and the end of the map, so ideally if you sell your towers quick, you would net couple hundred more points in the end score since the idle ticking would yield more points. Hope this makes sense. The tower value is also the reason why everything shouldn't be mark3.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Got it! Thanks for all the help Peltz. With the pointers on how the scoring system works (less towers, more income, more money = more money generated each turn) I managed to beat it with a 194.000 score. Of course, i got a lump of coal.

Holy shit, that's a remarkable score. Grasshopper beats the sensei, by 90k .

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Well, I installed it to get the achievement and let me tell you that you're not missing much. It's excruciatingly boring, and has all the hallmarks of a bad Asian RPG (lame art, flashy 'combat', grinding). Yet the achievement is pretty hard to get. Grrr! Kinda regretting bothering to DL and install the 5 gig now. But hell, got nothing to do anyway. On a sidenote; still no good luck on the great gift pile...16 completed objectives and the result: 12 lumps of coal and 4 coupons.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Did I mention that I totally don't give a crap about this contest? The sales have been mostly flat too, imo. Valve! Why have you forsaken me! I did pick up Hard Reset and Rock of Ages though.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
This years sales do seem a bit weak to me to be honest. However, thank you to Peltz for my new game. I think O'cram sent me a game too but it then disappeared. Anyway with the coal - I'm thinking we should trade to someone so they can get a gift versus letting them rot, cause I know I will never get the amount needed to get a game.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Peltz, do you want me to gift you copies of these games? Will that make you happier? I'm guessing no. I sense you're just mad because you live in the piracy capital of europe.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Actually that last picture is no longer valid, a few hours after taking that picture, that game was made available for my "region." And special offer discount for Dungeon Siege saga also appeared.
