Re: Funny Stuff II
love the fox. re AOL users... hmmm... I wonder what percentage of those people are over the age of 65. I think my parents may have finally dropped AOL, but it certainly took years to convince them.

Re: Funny Stuff II
"But everything is still working fine! We don't need internet that reaches speeds faster than crawling!" Then they get annoyed and a little angry when you push on because you're getting to their comfort zone by 'always trying to change things'. Then you finally install the new device and/or internet and feel like murdering someone for all the whining you get for trying to help them, and 2 months later they go 'wow, how did we ever get along with the old line' and forget to thank you. I'm sure this story partially applies to everyone else here, haha. I remember one time...my dad got a laptop and printer for his job, both of them with wireless capability. I installed a wireless network at home to accomodate it all, and when me and one of my brothers were explaining the principle for the wireless printer to him he just...couldn't grasp it. It's not that he's dumb, he just couldn't understand how such a thing could possibly work. It was like showing a Neandertahl a picture or a TV show. When we decided to SHOW him that it works by moving the printer around and printing (from the laptop) in different places in the house he actually thought we were pulling his leg and started looking for a hidden wire somewhere. I shit you not.

Re: Funny Stuff II
Luckily my parents are a bit more tech oriented but just the other day my mother, whose laptop internal wireless card is broken and has to use a wifi dongle, tried to stick the usb dongle into lan port. My father did ask if I am normal when I told him he can access his 3g router by typing in an ip address into internet explorer. I'm quite sure he has no clue as to what telnet is but I cant help and wonder how else am I supposed access it? He has had a Samsung SCX4500W network printer for a while now, which i consider one of the best looking printers i've seen with my own eyes, so the idea that the printer only needs power cord is not foreign to him.

Re: Funny Stuff II
you spoiler tagged a picture of a printer!? Peltz... I have to ask you... are you normal? The whole "it's magic" thing doesn't extend to just old people and the... umm... not-technically-inclined. Any time I explain how a subnet mask actually works, people are like... "oooooooh". Suddenly a huge magical mystery isn't so huge or magical. Sometimes I feel like I'm taking away Christmas though. Maybe we all need a bit more magic in our lives.

Re: Funny Stuff II
That's.... retarded. And I must admit, the misused apostrophe in the "game studio's" name just really rubbed me the wrong way.
