Re: Funny Stuff II
Haha, I don't give a shit about the comfort on a Ryanair flight (what with nothing being SUPER far in Europe by plane), but their flight schedules are so lame. Example: Ryanair flies on Malta froma nearby airport (Eindhoven), but it's flight times are 10 AM (from here) and 6 AM (from there). That's like...ridiculously early for a vacation because you need to get at the airport first, and then there's the "gotta be there 1-2 hours early" thing. So basically you're leaving really really early and coming back in the middle of the fucking night. So...I just fly with the Air Malta airline for double the money, since they fly in the afternoon and evening. It's my goddamn holiday, I'd rather pay 150 € instead of 60 € if it means I don't have to get up at inhumane hours. /cue Satis saying he gets up earlier than that on a regular work day. P.S. to be fair, apart from the better hours, the flight is actually a lot better too. More space, food and drinks on the plane, extra luggage, actual flight attendants, etc. It's not just the hours I'm paying for.

Re: Funny Stuff II
Generally speaking, excluding the latest one my family holidays have always been early get ups. I tend to sleep on the plane so that on the first day I can start the holiday straight away. But yeah, leg room is a must for me - I can't stand cramped seats.

Re: Funny Stuff II
I prefer flying out early, but I'm at a major hub airport. If you fly out at 6am or whatever, it means the security lines are really short, even on holidays. Get there a few hours later and the wait times get to be retarded. Still, I hear where Ox comes from... I don't mind paying a bit more for comfort and ease of use. Sucks getting where you're going so early you can't check into your hotel for several hours. Thankfully, the hotels have places to store your luggage, so you can go explore and eat and stuff while you wait for the hotel to free up a room.

Re: Funny Stuff II
lol @ security lines. Is it really there that the bottleneck is? Goddamn scanners and shit. Brussels isn't Heathrow or Paris but a pretty major European airport, and the most I ever had to wait in line at the security checks (x-ray hand luggage, go through metal detector) was like 10 minutes. The biggest line usually is the check-in counter, but that's been better in the last years with the online check-in etc. There's awlays retards there who start arguing about their allowed weight and their extra suitcase they want to check in for no charge, or whatever. Ugghghhh. Check the FUCKING flight info before you go to the aiport with 5 suitcases and waste everybody's time, you morons.

Re: Funny Stuff II
check-ins are typically little time. At our airport, on our carrier, you typically check in using little computer kiosks that print your baggage tag (if you even have baggage). Then someone calls your name and you give them your baggage and are on your way. In Frankfurt it was a whole different story, but I don't fly through Frankfurt much. Denver is the same (with the kiosks). The security lines are always the longest wait. Denver especially is horrific.
Here's part of the line. (this is really Denver, but not taken by me)

Re: Funny Stuff II
I flew from Frankfurt; it wasn't too bad for me really though - we were there well in advance, we grabbed some beers and sat outside practicing the kung fu we had learned [I went to Germany for training]. However, maybe it's just cuz I'm british, but queue's really don't bother me. Unless I've got to be somewhere that is, like for example you need to post a package on the way to an appointment.

Re: Funny Stuff II
I hate wasting time standing in lines. I have things to do, always, and I dislike wasting what time I have standing in an idiot line to play along with *whatever*... security theater, or because of lazy clerks, or whatever. There are times when lines are unavoidable, of course.

Re: Funny Stuff II
Don't get me wrong, I get irritated if someone infront of me is holding up the queue for a stupid reason or if the clerk is being a retard. But I spend most of my life at the other end of that queue trying to get rid of it; however I am damn good at my job and I shift queues fast.

Re: Funny Stuff II
I find that I am very zen about waiting. I don't like it, of course, but without a car and thus reliant on public transport for many of your needs you eventually accept that there is waiting. You gotta keep in mind that when taking a bus, tram or train you do not only have to deal with inevitable delays (and the fact that they don't always take the fastest route), but you also have to get to a bus stop and be there a few mins early just to be sure. So...a lot of waiting. I do notice that when I am on public transport with friends who tend to drive, that they get annoyed much more easily. Actually, they even get annoyed much more easily in a traffic jam than I ever am as a passenger (even if we both don't really HAVE to be anywhere in time). I think it's pretty natural, given that they are used to take the shortest possible way from point A to B with little waiting. But it's funny to see the difference. In the end...there's only one thing you gotta keep in mind: is there really anything you can do about the line/waiting time? If not and it's completely out of your hands just sit back, clear your mind and relax. You're only stressing out yourself. Take it from a bum who waits all the time. /me makes some vague remark about my internet connection too

Re: Funny Stuff II
Never really thought about it that way before Ox - I've never had my own car, nor ever needed it. So as you said, I'm used to waiting on things to get to places etc.
What show is that "are you talking about my not being married?" thing from?
also, I love steve's "none-reaction" face in one of those shots.

I love the final 'zinger' of the Galifinakis + Carell clip. The 'married' clip is from Big Train...basically a collection of absurd sketches, some of them really good.

What happens when 2 AI chat bots have a conversation? Strange things, including god and unicorns.
