Dude get MoW installed and get your ass online. I had a peek at the Kraut mission and it looks epic. A new map that's very fucking wide. Looks like we start off with a motorcycle and a halftrack which should help us at the start, but given the open nature of the map, it looks like its gonna turn into a Kursk style tankfest pretty soon

We did the mission Derf described and it was fun (especially when I hosted since his PC was huffing and puffing to run it as a MP host ) but it has some issues, mostly technical. Crashed on us several times for no apparent reasons. I also dislike the brushes and trees everywhere But the open nature of the map is pretty cool, much more cover from AT guns and tanks become less bogged down in uneven terrain.

Shit man, I can't wait until they release a skirmish map DLC.

I replayed that map solo (on Easy) and it was bags of fun until I crashed :*(

Basically, it was awesome going at my own pace cos I could properly recce and plan my attacks and the immediately setup sandbag and AT defenses. It was turning into a science:

1) Bring a sniper up to the next point of attack, and have him pick off whatever possible. He's hiding in a bush (and shootin' and scootin') so the enemy can't see him.
2) Bring up an armoured car / light tank but stay out of sight for now.
3) Bring up a half-track full of able and well equipped soldiers.
4) Bring up a medium tank behind the half-track but only use if needed to stop a counter-attack.
5) Harass with armoured car and place it on decent ground with good visibility, all the while rattling away at the objective.
6) Bring in the halftrack and unload the men and proceed to take the objective behind cover. Halftrack provides extra cover fire.
7) Once captured, man MG's and setup sandbags to in forward positions so that men behind them can be used as spotters for MG's.
8) Bring in a couple of AT guns, well placed back and hidden behind bushes.

You're way too methodical for my tastes man. But you probably do a lot better playing alone with that playing style. Funny how our MP scores tend to be relatively even, with you losing a good few less men and vehicles than me but me usually killing and destroying a good few more. Every time!

It's too long since I got my MoW fix. We need to play soon. Is there a new advanced map mod out yet?
