Re: Magicka
Had a bit of practice time, got to chapter 3 (didn't manage to defeat the snake in the demo btw) and i accidently found out how to teleport. Cool Weekend is busy, but if i catch you online tomorrow or so, we might try co-op ... gonna be a whole lot of teamkilling probably!

Re: Magicka
Haha, I haven't actually played since the demo so I'll have to get a grasp on things again pretty quickly. But you don't mind being electrocuted a few times right?

Re: Magicka
Heh i've just been busy configuring my headset so that i can actually use my microphone. You'll hear me cussing and swearing all the time probably. Oh and i'm not sure if i actually teleported, since i used a spell and it's supposed to be a magicka-thingie. Trying not to play now and not to read anything that gives away spell combinations, since must of the fun will be discovering it on our own. Btw my favourite tactic of killing mobs is putting down lots of mines ... you're good at dodging those right?

Re: Magicka
Had a small run with Ox yesterday. After spending some time trying to solve our connection problems and such we finally managed to get a game going. The beginning ran smoothly, although i had to kill myself at one point because Ox had managed to kill himself and i couldn't remember the revive spell. And Ox needed a bit more training/figuring out the spells than i did. Once outside things started to lag pretty badly for me though, might be because we skipped some dialogues, or because Ox tried out his various spellcombinations on the other mages (as expected). After chapter 1 he totally crashed and we called it a day. Will be interesting to see how 3 or 4 guys works, no doubt we'll be needing a lot of reviving people Btw maybe the guy that will host could check this page: http://magickatips.com/tag/troubleshooting/

Re: Magicka
Yeah the game itself looks like load and loads of fun but actually getting it to work properly seems like a bitch. At least for me and J last night. No but really: our hosted games wouldn't show up in the server lists, not even direct connect through IP would work. We tried putting up a hamachi network to remedy it but that didn't work either. In the end we went with a simple Steam invite, which seemed to work better than all that....yeah that makes sense *sarcasm*. Like J said, once in the game we were plagued by first lag (him, since I was hosting) and later bugs. He'd get stuck in dialogue or stay dead (on his screen) even though I revived him on my screen. I once had my staff description layover stay on screen for a minute or two, instead of going away again. It's transparent so not a huge problem but jeez. Not cool. So yeah, looking how to iron all that out. Cause the game itself looks like it could be a massive lolfest. Also, I love Vlad - who is not a vampire by any means.

Played a little bit today and lolled hard with Vlad again.
Gimme a shout when you feel like playing Ox (or other people).

Re: Magicka
Oh I should be only quite often the next few days, so I'd definitely be up for some more fun.

Re: Magicka
I can't honestly tell if it's stable yet, since our first game was really sketchy due to connection issues. To be fair though, according to J it may have to do with his internet since he has similar issue with tf2 from time to time. Maybe we should try connecting to Satis and Shiny just to test it. But WHEN it works, man the fun is off the charts.

Re: Magicka
After a not-so-succesful-because-of-lag first try today, we switched the setup: i hosted, Ox joined. And it went very smooth i must say, no hick-ups whatsoever, we steamrolled through the first chapter. Accidently stumbled upon a new sword 'Excalibur', basically a sword with a big chuck of rock around it. Now next chapter is where the real action will begin, i think i ressurected Ox in 1 particular battle at least 4 times (if not more). The more we'll play, the easier we'll find the right combinations which will become necessary since battles will become very crowded and intense. I know i died several times when solo'ing, and i'm not sure if with Ox this number will go down or rather go up. Also got this achievement: Finders keepers Steal your friends equipment after he has died.

Re: Magicka
Yeah I saw that happen. The game went flawlessly this time, apparently because J played in windowed mode? (not sure anymore) Strange that would affect lag and sync issues, but who cares as long as it works right. And yeah, I fumbled up in that fight. I'm not horrible when things aren't too hectic or under pressure, but in a chaotic battle I keep mucking combinations up. Just a matter of getting some basic spells in my fingers I'm sure. Oh and I let J enjoy my healing mines. They actually do heal, but also hurl him in the air as it were a real mine.

Re: Magicka
oh, I love the healing mines.
I've only played it solo, but it's a lot of fun, and pretty funny to boot. I'm up for playing, most assuredly. Can't this Saturday though due to imminent crawfish boil.

Re: Magicka
Yeah, mines are very powerfull, wouldn't be the first time somebody gets hurled out of screen or falls to death from it. In my solo game, i picked up a staff that allows you to teleport, that one saved my ass on numerous occasions. (and falsly let me believe i discovered a combination to teleport lol)
