Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Mm. I am interested in the game and I would buy it...if it weren't for my financial woes and gaming backlog. Here's to hoping that it'll drop even below that during the christmas sale!

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Haha, well, that too, but also...
Double bills this month (for some reason) Triple root canal Gotta pay back to taxes Had to spot my brothers for my dad's birthday present Bought games earlier in the month before I knew about the financial shitstorm MIGHT have to book a ticket to London tonight. Probably shouldn't though, given this month's finances. (was gonna visit friends)
So yeah...that all added up comes to more than i make this month, making it tight in the ole' belt. So non-vital expenses like 10 € for a game that I would like to play isn't a good investment when I have tons of games left to play first.

Good deals on all Dawn of War games on steam...not familiar with DoW2 but DoW 1 is a pretty great classic RTS series, if you need something for laptop gaming perhaps.

I actually picked up Plants vs Zombies and the DoW2 pack. I'm not usually a big fan of RTS games, but hey, why not. I beat Batman, so I needed something new. I'm not OCD enough to go back through Batman and try to beat all the Riddler's crap.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
oh, forgot to mention, there's a Major League Baseball 2010 game on sale for 90% off... down from $20 to $2. If I actually liked baseball at all, I might pick it up... but I don't, so I won't. But perhaps one of you guys are.

Yeah, I don't think you're gonna find too many baseball fans here, stuck as you are with euro trash. But thanks for the heads up! Plants vs zombies was 5 € this weekend too - bought it for one of my brothers and a pal. Sure they'll enjoy it. I actually got that pal's girlfriend hooked on Bookworm Adventures by accident, after I had bought it for him. I am expecting him to buy me a house if she ever comes around to even more advanced gaming.

Trine is currently $5. Being an indie whore, you already own it, and I don't care.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
If it had online co-op I'm sure it could have been awesome even for you. Alas, not so for Trine (1). 2 should feature it.
That's the shit with a lot of these indie games that are originally made for the Xbox, Wii or PS3. Split screen and local 2-play co-op, wtf? Not on my PC watch!

Huge discounts on the older (GTA 1 all the way up to San Andreas) GTA games on steam right now. Also, Supreme Commander 2 is only 8.5 €. http://store.steampowered.com/sub/606/http://store.steampowered.com/app/40100/

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
First day of the Thanksgiving sales! Contemplating getting Alpha Protocol. At 75% off, it's probably worth 7.50€ and unlikely to get much cheaper come christmas sales. The rest doesn't interest me much - Borderlands very maybe if we happen to have a 4-man squad interested in teaming up and playing it. I think Satis and Shiny thought it was fun? Right? The other deals for today don't really interest me. Prototype and Shank are too expensive for me still.

Yea, Shiny and I played it to completion. Well, first time around, at least. You can replay to get higher levels and better loot, but bleh.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Mm, ok. Since no one else seems interested I'm probably gonna pass too. I did buy Alpha Protocol, and in case anyone was thinking of doing the same before day 1 ends: a patch just removed the DRM it came with. So that's a nice thing to consider.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Thanks Shiny!! I've got a ton of games on my plate so I can't promise I'll play it any time soon but I definitely will in the future! I also bought the 'story indie' pack and, in coordination with Derf, purchased Kane & Lynch 2 to play in 2-player co-op. Installed it yeserday but couldn't play yet (people over). I'm sure we'll get to it this weekend. I tried a few minutes in singleplayer arcade mode (some sort of bank robbery game mode) to test the basic handling and gameplay. It looks like it could be pretty sweet, and it has actual steam-specific menu items so it's unlikely to be just a sloppy port. The only thing that annoyed me is the seemingly fixed 3d-person view, but eh, I'll get over it. I'm sure 70% of the fun will be trash talking anyway over voice chat; Also: indie packs & gift pack sales for the remaining days were leaked. The indie packs will all be the same price as the ones we've seen so far, no prices for the gift packs (but it does say how many copies there will be in each pack). Indie Air Pack: Altitude, DogFighter, Flotilla, Gratuitous Space Battles, Plain Sight Indie Clever Pack: Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time, Eufloria, Iron Grip: Warlord, VVVVVV, World of Goo Indie Pulse Pack: Audiosurf, Beat Hazard, Bit Trip Beat, The Polynomial, Rhythm Zone Indie Puzzle Pack: Cogs, Droplitz, Puzzle Dimension, Shatter, Tidalis Aliens Vs Predator 2010 6-pack Braid 10-pack Empire: Total War 6-pack Freedom Force 10-pack Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City 6-pack Just Cause 2 8-pack Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West 10-pack Mount & Blade: Warband 6-pack Nyxquest: Kindred Spirits 10-pack Osmos 12-pack Portal 6-pack Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale 8 pack Red Faction: Gorilla 8-pack Splinter Cell: Conviction 6-pack Trine 8-pack Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising 8-pack World of Goo 12-pack
