Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
I counted my list and I have 56 listed, plus 1 external game. I'm not sure where the rest came from... I've installed a lot of demos at one time or another, so perhaps that's it. I can also vouch that shiny only has 11. I totally didn't realize you could categorize the games. that's awesome. Oh, boo..just realized you can't have a game be in more than one category. That's crappy. Is Steam living in the 90s?

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Yes you are correct, that number comes from all games, including demos, that steam was able to track. I took it from everyones gameplay stats so it will include all demos and stuff. Cant see any way other than manually counting the games.
I think i have some 40 games purchased on steam, my total game count is somewhere near 200.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
STALKER and STALKER:Call of Pripyat on sale this weekend for $9.99. I've been eyeballing Call of Pripyat for awhile now, with a typical price of $19.99... so this is basically a 50% of sale with the original thrown in. I think I'll probably pick it up. I mean, $10 is just not much money and I've heard nothing but good things about it. It also means I can give away my original STALKER to someone else.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
I think you can only do that with Valve games (giving away double copies), so look out!
But it IS a great deal.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Men of War (and its standalone expansion Red Tide) is for sales on Steam for ubercheaps. It's highly recommended if you dig tough, chaotic RTS on a vast scale. It's one of Derf's favorite games in years and you know how much he hates everything. http://store.steampowered.com/app/7830/(the standalone XP is good, but the original game is the best. Hard but fulfilling, and amazing in general really. Every unit has loot and inventory, every vehicle or mounted gun can be used, buildings are destructible...soldiers can even lose helmets in firefights).

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY edition is on sale for 66% off this weekend, which comes to $13.60 for me. Considering the rave reviews it got and my extreme boredom and lack of games to play, I picked it up and am installing it now. I played the demo and was kinda put off by the sneaking, but I got into Thief, so I'm hoping this will spark my interest. It's a good deal, anyway.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
THQ sales - Red Faction games 75% off on the first day. After Satis' tales I'm very tempted to buy Guerilla, if it weren't for the fact that I just had the first stage of a triple root canal done which cost me a fucking 550 €. And I gotta repay 200 to taxes...and need to buy my dad a gift...and pay my rent. Fun fun fun. My Christmas bonus is gonna have to go straight to my savings account to plumb this month's hole in my finances. Fucking BS world. I work full-time with a good wage, I don't even have a car or costly habits like smoking, didn't even go on holiday this year and I still barely get by. You get fucked so hard up the ass when you're living alone, it's insane.

I don't know if it was my financial rant that inspired her to have mercy on my poor (in many ways) soul, but a big THANK YOU to Shiny for buying me RF: Guerilla on steam!!

Metro 2033 is on sale today for $13.60. For anyone who wants a nice shooter, I would highly recommend it... definitely worth that price.
