Good question, since you always seem to be the one who is actually willing to help out others out in L4D2. Me, Derf and O'Cram are basically in it for ourselves and only work together out of strict necessity. Good thing you, Peltz and Shiny keep us somewhat honest.

Yea I will have to agree there. You talk like you are all about yourself but you really do stick around and help out.

Deus ex & invisible war are on sale for $5, or $2.50 each. Tempted.

I picked up the pack too. I don't even know if I'll ever play it, but at $5...why not?

Yeah, fucking steam is driving me into bankrupcy. I haven't bought anything yet but been browsing...so tempting. I might make a lost of some games that are worth it at the current prices.

Some of those sales are of pretty limited length, so you may not want to wait too long.

Hehe, thats like the alcohol sale limit law here in Estonia. Shops are not allowed to sell alcohol after 22:00 but at 21:30 they engage a recording that after every 5 or 10 minutes sais "Dear shoppers according to the law the selling of alcoholic products is prohibited after 22:00." And the result is that people who would've never bought any alcohol at all feel a subconscious pressure to grab the nearest bottle. And the cherry on top of this whole stupidity is that the larger shops are open until 23:00. Where common sense ends, politics begins.

hehe, yea, definitely some pressure. Texas is similar to Estonia. Can't sell alcohol after a certain time (2200 I believe). Also can't sell liqour on Sunday, though you can buy beer. But you can only buy beer after like 10am or something on Sunday. I guess to keep people from going to church drunk.

Post Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
@ Satis: yeah I know that they have daily sales too, but the majority just run through to the 4th of July. And wtf @ not being able to buy alcohol after 10? :o Most night shops down here make the majority of their income on alcohol and cigarettes I'm sure, and it's not like we've devolded into a lawless society or anything yet. Silly rules.

So here's my grand overview of what, imho, are the better deals. :) Prices will be in Euro, so just detract 10% of them and then put a dollar/pound sign behind them to get your equivalent. :? Also, keep in mind that I take into account both the quality of the game(s) and the price. Some games aren't omgwtfBBQ cool but are so cheap that they are worth it, etc. My recommendations are indicated by a *

Packs/Bundles

- , 27 €: I'm not buying it myself out of principle, but it IS a pretty great deal.
- , 4.75 € : classic series. Not sure how all of them withstood the test of time, though. Also available seperately (and cheap)
- , 21.75 € : if you love racing games, these games are a sweet deal. Also available seperately. I'd recommend Fuel and Dirt 2 in particular.
- , 50 € : If you like the Telltale humor and are into adventures, this is one whopping deal.
- , 50 € : If you don't own any of these games yet and like action/strategy, this is a great deal.
- , 5€ : Still one of the best "don't let go of the trigger" shooters in the biz.
- , 7.5 € : Best horror adventures of the last few years.
- , 8 € : Bundles Men of War and its expansion Red Tide, some of the best strategic titles in years. *

Indie games

- , 3.4 € : A Peltz-y game. Free-roaming space game, with favorable ratings too.
- 8 € : Nice diablo-like.
- , 2.24 € : Wonderful indie platform/puzzler. Good for kids (J, how old is yours? Might be a good choice for him/her), but also fun for adults.*
- : 8.5 € : Probably a little too pricey to have anyone who's not into the genre to begin with try it, but it's SO GORGEOUS. Really.
- , 5 € : Nice litle indie space exploring game. Supposed to be pretty good, with crazy stuff like talking cats and whatnot. Something for Peltz again I think.

Action

- , 2.5 € : underestimated shooter, flawed but inspired. Definitely recommended (at that price) *
- , 6,8 € : Recommended. It includes both the 'new' Assault on Dark Athena and the first Riddick Game (Escape from Butcher Bay). Get it for the first and its graphical updates, but the second game is good too. Diesel does all the voice overs, the world feels 'right' and the action is visceral. One of the best movie adaption/extensions ever, if not the best. *
- , 1.6 € : This game isn't supposed to be all that good, but I am a horror junkie and I have a continued hard-on for Clive Barker's (of Hellraiser fame etc) first forage into gaming, Undying. So I might get it regardless. :P
- , 3.4 € : Supposed to be good, in an 'innovative gameplay ideas' kind of way. Price shouldn't stop you.
- , 6 € : Supposedly one of the best installements of the entire series

RPG

- , 5.5 € : If you like RPG's and haven't played this yet, you should buy it. One of the best RPG's of the decade. And it'll help you catch on for when the Witcher 2 arrives.*

Adventure/other

- , 3 € : One of the best games i have ever played in the first 50% of the game...after that it goes decidely downhill in terms of 'making sense', but it's still a good game. The drop in quality towards the end just is a bummer. Also, might want to watch out, this is the American edition which has suffered some insane cuts like leaving out sex scenes and having people shower in their underwear. It makes some parts of the game hard to follow(a friend of mine noticed this a while back).
- , 3.5 € : A great game, of which the graphics tend to have weathered the storm of the ages pretty well. Recommended.*
- , 0.95 €: Fun little game, and at 0.95 € almost a crime not to try!

Casual/Pop Cap

- 7 € : I can't stress enough how much fun and how addictive this game is. Price still steep-ish for giving it a try, but i'll tell you now it's worth it.*
- /, 7 € each : Love 'em. Funny and well-made, language fun. Totally worth it.*

So... hope you'll all give it a glance just so I can tell myself the time I put into this isn't wholly wasted. Obviously, the selection here is slanted by what i like and know, so it's by no means a Bible. Feel free to point out your favorites too. Pro Tip: wait before buying any of these until the end of the general sales on July 4th, unless it's one of the ultracheap ones (price of a beer etc). Chances are they might drop even further on one of the single-day sales coming up. Peace!
