Re: Good films..
Went to see Iron Man 2 yesterday - started out well, but then flattened out in the remaining 70%. Mediocre movie, but not bad as a popcorn type blockbuster. Robert Downey Jr. makes up for a lot in his role as the flamboyant Stark, and Mickey Rourke is fine villain. Oh and Scarlett is just sex on legs, especially in her role as secretary/ice queen. Hot damn. Other than that, most of the acting and plot was gash. So not recommended, but not horrible either. Kick Ass is way better though.

Re: Good films..
Bah that's probably another one I'll have to see on the film day. Robin Hood as well is one I want to see!

Re: Good films..
Robin Hood actually looks pretty decent. I'll see what the reviews have to say, though.

Watched How to train your dragon last night as Satis knows me well enough to know I love sappy kids movies with cute animal type things in them. I really enjoyed the cuteness of it but it is a total kids movie.

Re: Good films..
Hah, glad you agree. I think it's an excellent movie. If you don't have a personal hatred of graphic novels, I would recommend reading the Watchmen graphic novel. More information there that fills some of the holes, though personally I think the movie did a few things better.

Re: Good films..
I watched "Taken" with Liam Neeson. I would give it a 6 out 10. It definitely has some "Bourne Identy" moments in it, the action sequences are good and I like movies that lack the arch evil with the inevitable showdown. The premises of the story are good but unfortunately it turns into a mess. Also it is too sanitized or clean, and this is truly the thing that brings the movie down. The second quarter of the movie is the best, starting with chase after the spotter, then the flaws of continuity get out of hand. Not a bad movie all together and it is worth a watch. I think this could be one of those movies that gets better with age as we start to notice stuff that wasn't there at the first to third play through.
Edit: And i really hate how the weapon sounds have been added later. Damn i miss the fight scene between DeNiro, Pacino and Kilmer in "Heat." That has got to be one of the best scenes ever.

Re: Good films..
I saw The A-Team last Thursday. I knew it was going to suck, so I wasn't even that disappointed, but it was bad. First of all, while the original series was a family show with perhaps two deaths in the entire series, this movie has two every minute. I understand they wanted to make a movie for the people who saw the series in their youth and are adults now, but for me the whole "we'll shoot at ya but don't hit" was part of the fun. Then there's the Gandhi crap with BA that just makes you cringe at how bad it's played out. The promised original Face and Murdock cameo's were also not worth the wait (they are after the ending credits). And last but not least, stop shaking that camera! If you want an action scene to look exciting, make sure they are well choreographed, not impossible to follow. This sucked in the Bourne movies that I believe started the trend and continues to suck until filmmakers finally get their heads out of their asses and stop doing that shit.

Re: Good films..
haha, yea, I figured that movie would blow. And I think the shakeycam thing started with Gladiator, though I could be mistaken. Which is unfortunate, since that was otherwise a very good movie.

Re: Good films..
Wait what BA did a Ghandi thing?! That doesn't make sense. Funny thing is that I heard from another friend that the movie isn't all that awful, even quite enjoyable. I'm not sure with which opinion to run...but I'll probably end up watching it anyway. But yeah...Liam Neeson as Hannibal, that was bound to wrong.

Re: Good films..
Well it was enjoyable, because I knew it would suck. I just wished it wasn't supposed to be an A-Team movie.

Re: Good films..
well, when I saw a preview of them in a tank... parachuting... and shooting shit with the main gun, I knew it would be absolutely horrific.

Re: Good films..
Haha, that must be one of the worst parts of the film, yes. I haven't seen the trailer, but does it show how they land? If not, I won't spoil it for you.

I plan on never watching that movie, so you wouldn't ruin anything for me regardless.
