Re: Dragon Age: Awakening
Unfortunately, my game has become unstable recently. I CTD regularly, and it's REALLY annoying. I'm almost done...just the swamp left, so I may force myself to finish, but I'm not sure I'll play through with my 3rd character. Not for awhile, at least.

Re: Dragon Age: Awakening
Sucks to hear about your CTD issues. Seems strange for a game this polished, but then we know better than to think any game to be above "ok" in levels of QA. I kinda figured that was the case (second caster), but she had it coming. If she's just been a little more believing of my intentions and a less homicidal she would have lived. Or if I'd had conversation options allowing me to go "now I own your ass" on her.

Re: Dragon Age: Awakening
Did you ever complete the first game with more than one character? I remember when you were a real gamer... how many times did you play BG? With ridiculously difficult mods, on top of it. So sad what's happening to you in your old age.

Nope, but I suspect that'll happen really soon now. I'll probably wax the mutha in record time anyway. (*gets ready to eat crow*)

Re: Dragon Age: Awakening
BTW, did you see the new DLC crap? It's gifts and pranks for your characters.... like...wtf. It's for-pay, too. Why the fuck am I going to spend money so I can make my party members love me more? This is the kind of stuff that makes me hate the DLC concept. Trying to monetize everything. Lamez.

Re: Dragon Age: Awakening
Yeah, I saw it. Obviously didn't buy it, heh. And I don't know man...I don't mind shit like this. Sure it's crappy, but at least it just 'adds' to the game experience without hollowing out the original game. You know? I had the CE so I didn't have the bother, but in DA:O there was the whole mess with the guy standing there and offering a quest - but only if you bought the DLC. See, that shit is lame, because it makes you feel like you're missing out and the original game was just a framework to spend more of your $$$$ in. The holiday hats, meh, they're for saddoes (sad peeps) but they don't bother me. It's not like I run in some guy wearing an Easter bunny costume telling me I could totally look like him for 2 $.0 Or Oghren whining for a chocolate Easter egg. So, summarized: paid DLC, though innately lame, is ok if there are people willing to play it, as long as it doesn't make me feel like the original game I spent 50$ on is inadequate or somehow "less complete" without it.

Re: Dragon Age: Awakening
Well, I'm annoyed because crap like this would be free in the past. TF2 still shows that. I think it's sad that cute stuff they just add as bonuses for their loyal customers is now something they're trying to make money out of. I don't even know what 150 bioware points actually means in a dollars and cents, err, sense. But that whole thing is retarded, too.

Re: Dragon Age: Awakening
Welp, completed my second run just now. I still didn't complete all the companion quests, but I did do the vast majority of the side quests this time. I also forged all the special weapons. Good stuff. I don't think I'll be playing my third character any time soon, however.
