Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
yea, it's definitely my kind of game. I'll probably pick it up. $7 is insignificant.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Steam has a week-long sale of Eidos and Square Enix games. We already had Hitman and Deux Ex on Monday so not sure if the other offers can possibly be better (not exactly an Eidos fan generally speaking, without hating their games or anything), but just sayin', keep an eye out this week.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
The two Deus Ex games are up on Steam for $5 for the pair. Not a bad price.
Trine is also available for $5. Ox, you may be interested if you haven't already played it, since you're the indie whore around here.
Deus Ex is really tempting, but I think I'll pass. It's not like I'll ever go back and play the original again, and the second isn't worth the disk space.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
The grand theft auto classic pack was on sale for like $7.50. That includes GTA I, II, III, Vice City and San Andreas. Not a bad deal. In fact, good enough that I picked it up. Unfortunately, it looks like the sale ended. Sorry guys.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Damn. I would have bought that. Vice City was up for 3 € or so earlier this week and I came close to buying it, seeing as it was my favorite installment of the series (eighties music, Miami Vice feel). But then I looked at my bank account and decided against spending on a game I'm unlikely to play soon. But 7 € for ALL those games is just too good to pass on. Sucks I missed it.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Yea, GTA III was awesome because of the original music and the fact it was my first GTA game. Vice city was probably the best because of environment and stuff. San Andreas was kinda cool too, in its own way, but lacked something. I wouldn't mind trying GTA IV if they neutered all the DRM. *shrug*

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Weekend deal is the codemaster's racing pack. I prefer racing games on the xbox360, but still, it's a good deal.
Dirt, Dirt2, Fuel, Grid, and TOCA 3 for $17.50.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
yeah, racing not for me. I did get that Vice City for 2.5 € deal though, after missing out on the complete pack I figured "fuck it it's slightly more expensive than one beer..."

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
The publishers are abusing steams huge player base. For instance, Empire: Total War is 50€ on steam and 15£ on game.co.uk (downloadable).

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
I'm surprised Steam allows that. It just devalues their platform. Still, good catch, looks like it's always a good idea to do some comparison shopping before jumping the gun.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
yea... I already noticed that Just Cause 2 is cheaper in places other than steam. I bet Metro 2033 is too.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Well game.co.uk has a 50% off on Empire:TW 'download version' so it is only 8£ for two more days and i bought it. Screw Steam and the 50€ price.
