lol, whiner.. I use paint to stretch/skew, exactly like Peltz posted. :p
the problem with opening up the limit is upload time and download time. Upload time I believe there's a limit implemented by my hosting company... if you exceed that, the script is terminated. At least, I believe the limit affects http uploads... I could be mistaken.
*shrug* guess there's one way to find out

aight, I bumped up the max resolution from 1600x1200 to 1920x1200. That should work for any resolution any of us are likely to play at.

well, ive found it problem when i wanted to post a photo / screenie without scaling it in order to maintain the quality. 1200 vertical pixels is sometimes a bit stringent. especially when you're posting JPEG's to keep the filesize down.
recently though ive been trying to upload the l4d2 scores, which i can't scale down to 1200 cos you wouldn't be able to read them any more... obviously i could fuck around in paint to try and make use of the 1600 horizontal pixels, but that's a pain in the butthole.

aight, I went ahead and made that change. 1920x1920 is the dimensions limit. I also bumped up the file size limit from 5MB to 20MB for the hell of it. If you get a chance, please test it and make sure it actually works.

lol. I actually have no storage limitations here either, so feel free. though I can't guarantee I'll actually maintain this domain for another 20 years. Chances are I'll be dead of super-AIDS by then.

Re: open up photo upload res limit
... Did I tell you the story about that one time I suggested uploading images to imageshack? The year was 2010....cold winters and poor economy. Things were bad back in those times....
zzz....
What was I talking about? Opps I crapped my pants
