Ah yeah I had shit loids if problems with media center too. Fuck that shit.
Use .
I think Vuze can do it to, so if you're in to torrenting you fav TV programs and actually want to watch them on your TV it's useful.
But those are mostly for video - for music, just go to the music section on your dash board and click on the PC name that shows up there Saves the WMC malarky.

I don't recall having my PC name available, but it's been awhile. I may give it another shot.

Windows 7 has that 'play to' business doesn't it, I haven't tried it yet but intend to when I download the next episode of House so you shouldn't even have to mess about with media centre hopefully

Interesting. I'll try that too. Windows 7 is giving me some fits with file sharing between PCs, but otherwise I'm quite happy with it. It's a good successor to XP, in my opinion. Too bad it took so long to come out, and too bad there was that unfortunate Vista business.

It's not too bad Ox, check www.scan.co.uk I got it for £80 plus tax (about £95 in total I think) including the 64 bit version. Full one too, not upgrade. I know that's still a lot but for windows, that's damn cheap! If they won't ship to you, you can always send it to me anyway and I'll forward it on.
I agree with Satis, very satisfactory successor to XP, I'm loving it. Took me a week or so to get used to the differences but now I wouldn't go back. Admittedly not played many games on it yet (Just DA and WoW) so if there are some incompatibilities I may moan a bit more about it (Sacred 2 is apparently dodgy to get to work on it but S2 is dodgy anyway) but until then, it's well worth it!

I've done quite a bit of gaming on it, and haven't had any issues. Only my printer driver comes to mind, but that may have as much to do with the fact I'm running 64bit as anything.

Thanks for the tip Pev! I'll seriously consider it...Vista has been consistently screwing me on older games and games using older engines, which lock up my system entirely. Not cool. Maybe WIndows 7 could remedy that...but, like Satis, I fear it might be more the 64-bit thing than anything else.

For the record, I have successfully played Xcom in Dosbox on Windows 7 with absolutely no problems. Not sure if that's a testament to Windows 7 or Dosbox, but it's pretty cool.

Oh, that's sucky. My PC and 360 are right next to each other in the living room and both are hooked up to the tv. I can already play music from the PC using my wireless mouse and whatnot. The idea of using the xbox is to get a better user interface and being able to use the xbox controller. The play-to feature makes all that retarded.
Whatever, I'll get around to jacking with it eventually.

You do realize that statements like "it's cool I put an extra modification on it to prevent it from crashing" only serve to make it more likely that it will explode in some sort of weird quantum explosion and pull the entire state of Texas into another dimension, right?
It's like when you're playing table tennis and laugh at your opponent fucking up. You'll see, next serve you put it right into the net.
