  heh...no worries. Ordinarily I would have just shrugged it off as "he's a foreigner", but then I remembered you were a teacher.
 I didn't realize Dutch pluralization worked like that in some cases. Strange. But makes the mistake significantly more understandable. Unfortunately it's common place in the US, where people speak only one language and speak it poorly.

Always amazed me that. There are a lot of English-speaking people who have a hard time distinguishing between your & you're and woman & women when writing...guess spelling isn't one of their strong suits, but still.
I propose a radical simplification of English spelling, kinda like they did with Turkish a century or so ago. It's a well documented fact that English is a very tough language to master because of its crazy-ass spelling and idioms.
