This is cool.... Tom's hardware has a review of a drive built around a bunch of flash chips mounted on a board and connected via PCIE. The performance numbers are staggering. They make SSDs look slow.... like, really, really slow.

This is way too expensive at the moment for home use, but it's freakin' awesome. The price of flash will continue to drop rapidly, so this kind of thing may become more affordable in a few years.
