Second Harddrive
Ok quick query here guys.
Basically, reformatted a week ago. Previous to the format, I had two hdds, one nice shiny 120gb one, and my old 60gb one. Wanting to format, I put all the backup stuff on the 60gb one to save having to wait hours for it to burn to 3000000 dvds (ok exagerration there ). I also disconnected it from the pc coz knowing me, i woulda reformatted that one by accident and had to kill someone *looks at Mole*.
Anyhoo did the format fine etc, then tried to put the second hdd in. Now, when I do this, it won't go past the main mobo screen. So took it out, tried a few more times, same problem. Checked on the 'net, they claim it should let me go to BIOS and autodetect or manually input the parameters for the new drive etc. It won't let me into BIOS. on my pc you have to press Del to get to the BIOS on the screen just after the main mobo screen.
Sooooo what I'm thinking is, I'm gonna have to do another format, but with them both connected and obviously only format the larger drive. Not a huge problem; I know what drivers I need to download now, got all my discs here and I've not put much on this pc (just Horizons which is a bugger to download but isn't something I mind doing again). Just want to know if there's a way to sort this without having to bugger around with another format.

I know i could just walk around the corner but...
Does the PC boot at all? Or just hang?
If it boots, can you get in to Safemode? Maybe you could do a shitty-within windows format from there?

By main mobo screen I assume you mean the splash screen with ASUS or whatever on it, right? Usually this is hiding the REAL bootup screen... on my pc you have to hit tab or esc or something to make it go away. I'd try that first to see if you can get a meaningful message regarding your pc failing to boot.
A drive not being formatted, or needing to be formatted, shouldn't keep your pc from booting. At least not at the point you're talking about. The worst that should happen is it hangs trying to load the O/S.
My guess is you connected something improperly. With the size of the drives I'm guessing their PATA drives, right? Make sure your IDE cable is on the pins right and make sure you have the right master-slave settings set. I've had very similar behavior when I'd improperly set the jumpers. If it's SATA never mind... you have to be retarded and gifted to hook those up wrong.
Anyway, that's my 2c.

lol stop wasting posts and come here to say it! *pokes* thats it, you're helping tomorrow. though yes, they only go in one way and I did check all that thanks hehe.
I tried earlier btw on a boot up, pressing Tab shows me whats actually going on so I'll give it a go tomorrow and try pressing Tab when it hangs; might allow me to go into BIOS from that screen hopefully
