Microsoft Unveils it's Secret Project (really)
Well, Microsoft has announced it's latest little secret, Microsoft surface.
http://www.microsoft.com/surface/
There are 3 things I have to say about it.
1. Ooh, pretty
2. Ugh, Gimmick
3. Why would I want to revert BACK to these primitive methods?
Sure, some of this would be usefull (for instance the way they pay for the meal etc) but I don't really think this will catch on.
Well, we'll see won't we.

As I have seen the title, I started hoping they had published some of windows source code so that people can finally start fixing it. Gah..

I think it's an excellent idea.

I checked it out fast at work. It's basically a pc that looks like a coffee table with a touch sensitive screen. That's kinda cool, imo...I always wanted a computer built into a desk and shit...like Tron.
Anyway, it'll flop. There's no need for it and no real desire for it. If it gets hyped right it'll end up like the Segway.
Still, I encourage innovative thinking. I'm glad MS had the balls to put money into a project like that.

I reckon it'll have more use/luck outside the home at first.

See, to me the idea of the photo's from your phone/cam just seems like we're going backwards - but I guess that's good for people who don't know how to use a computer. Unfortunatley, It's going to cost a small fortune so, it's gonna flop.

I think it would be neat as a combination home theatre pc, home network server, etc. Maybe it'll be a project for me to build one soon. :p I wonder how expensive touch screen stuff is now.
