batteries, mp3 players, marketing
The rechargeable batteries for my mp3 player bit the dust. The batteries chage in the player itself, and it says that you should only use their type of rechargeables. I figured that it's just marketing, and they batteries are batteries. Anyone have experience violating the manufacturers warnings, before I toast my equipment?

You have to look out what kind of recharchables they are, I think NiMH instead of NiCd. The former is better then the latter. If they look like normal AA or AAA batteries then I think you can just replace them with another brand.
