It's my dad. I don't know wheteher he downloads porn, but he sure searches for it. And he is stupid enough to accept the pop-up windows for installing components.
But I can't possibly start yelling at him to do less porn so I guess I'll just have to accept the fact.

Why wouldn't you be able to tell of your dad? I mean..i know it's your dad, but that shouldn't stop you. If you don't wanna say it at the dinnertable with the entire family, at least ask him in private to STOP THE PORN! Or better, DECENTLY LOOK FOR PORN!
EDIT: and you anserwed your own question there...if you search for porn, you wanna keep/download the good stuff right?

man, introduce him to newsgroups or something. All the best porn, with none of the spyware/adware/bullshit. Or, very little at least.

Mmm, that name rang a bell and look what i got. I have 4 times svchost.exe (and winlogon.exe). I hate it when that happens.
the pestcontrol-site mentions to shut down the programs in task manager and blabla, but i have a problem. When i shut one down a craaaap not again
windows must now restrart because the RPC service terminated unexpectedly ???
*edit*
as you can see, my computer automatically shuts down after one minute, so i don't know how to remove it. any suggestions? gotta eat now.
ps: kenya was great
*edit nr2*
to clearify things: if i end the svchost.exe in my task mangager, it causes my computer to reboot, i got a system something error which says my computer will restart in 60 seconds and then starts counting. it has the above explanation: 'windows must now restrart because the RPC service terminated unexpectedly'.
I think the dirty bastard has some safety or so to prevent me from deleting it, either that or some stupid windows crap that i can not shut any system processes down maybe? just guessing, i know jack about computers as you all know.
SOOOOOOO, how do i kill it?

I believe svchost is quite vital.

*sigh* Yes, svchost is vital. So's winlogon. SVCInit is the keylogger.
I think someone needs to ban J from the use of computers.

The RPC procedure terminating and the pc restarting in 60 seconds sounds very msblast.exe-ish tho.

Yeah it is, but maybe J's killing of vital windows components also causes the computer to flip out.

yea, that is msblast behaviour, but I believe svchost controls rpc services. Hold one....
"The Service Host Process is generic host process for services that are run from dynamic-link libraries (DLLs)"
ok, maybe not specifically rpc. Anyway, if it doesn't do that unless he kills svchost, then he has nothing to worry about.
J, if you see 'msblast.exe' in your task manager, you have msblast. Kill the process, download the fix and fix it. I don't think you have that problem, though.

It's true, i should be banned from computers. Didn't read properly, jumped a bit fast to conclusions. But with all the crap that is running on this computer, you'd which to just be able to remove some stuff. Unfortunately i don't own this comp. I managed to trash kazaa however. That's a good thing. Hopefully my sister doesn't know how to restore it. It's taking ages for this computer to start up.
And i totally agree with Peltz.
