Re: Stealth tank
That was state of the art cinematic in the middle of the 90's. The gameplay is even better...I was watching , and the one thing that stands out is how slooowwww the game was on standard speed. Compared to modern day RTS game, it was almost a chess game. The atmosphere and the soundtrack (!!) are still kick ass tho.

Re: Stealth tank
1. Kane was, and still is, a fucking god. 2. The stealth tank stuff was cool, but I wasn't sure the footage I was looking at was real - or just edited to show what it could look like? On top of that, if it uses imagery - won't it be very hard to control the heat of the panels?
I guess it depends, can it literally work like the top of an oven and go hot/cold whilst displaying images? It raises a lot of question, but still is a very cool tech.

Re: Stealth tank
I think the tech is for protection from autonomus IR targeting systems, which use rapid "photography" for target acquisition. The tank would light up like a Christmas tree if one were to use a thermal camera.

Re: Stealth tank
There's active thermal camouflage for tanks in the real world now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14788009

Re: Stealth tank
Hmm since when do you guys post cool stuff like this in the tech forum? I hardly ever read the tech forum, thought it was always about computer stuff i didn't understand anyway. You even posted the hovering superconductor in here!
