So Im an avid Firefox users but for some reason a few odd things have been happening when surfing with firefox. Instead of reinstalling or trying to figure it out I just started using google chrome(I was in a hurry to look something up). I almost immediately fell in love. It seems to be faster than firefox and everything I try to access works. Plus you can do stuff like highlight a URL and right click to open in a new tab. Very useful. Although I feel kind of shameful using more google stuff. It just works so good. Plus when I open a new tab it gives me a like menu of websites I visit the most. Very efficient. |

I installed Chrome for a bit at home on my Windows 7 box. It seems I had uninstalled Internet Explorer or something (yay me!) but was having some issues with Firefox and these forums. It did end up being a browser-specific issue, so I installed Chrome. However, Chrome installed itself in my profile instead of in program files (or letting me choose the location). Since my little 15GB hard drive is pretty much constantly filling up in Win7, I ended up removing Chrome for that reason. Plus I just don't trust Google. So...any recommendations for an alternative browser? Firefox is my primary choice. IE - no way, it's Microsoft Chrome - no, it's Google. Safari - I hate Apple |

I use Chrome and i love it! It seems much quicker and handles flash, PDF, youtube and other stuff better. I found Firefox too fidgety. Chrome is quite minimalist too and i don't give a hoot about plugins & shit. |

There's a couple of Firefox extensions that I use a lot. I also hate how Chrome disregards how Windows looks and decides to draw it's own windows borders and title bar. I prefer to keep things uniform. |

I'm pretty much tied to Firefox for web development due to the Firebug plugin. being able to see xmlhttprequests and dig into html/css/javascript is required for me. The fact they just added xml highlighting/parsing makes it even better. My only beef is that the javascript viewer/browser doesn't do syntax highlighting and code folding. |

I still need IE for banking. Well, more like paying the bills actually. You see the estonian companies can generate bills that interact with my bank so i can pay em real easy with ID card authentication but unfortunately chrome cant handle that stuff. |

Just to throw in my 2 cents: at my previous job I had limited install rights and installed firefox as soon as I could. Internet was slow, pc's crap and IE6 was the standard brower. It was like the 500th circle of hell. Firefox cleared that up until IT cracked down and somehow fucked FF up. Then I tried google chrome and I must say, like 11b, I was surprised. It's very user-friendly. The easily customizable homepage really works well, as do most other of its nifty things. But yeah, at home I avoid it. Kinda paranoid about google. |

Interesting article. I'm still sticking with Firefox because of the developer tools I use, but still, interesting. If I were to switch, i'd probably switch to Chromium. |
