tutututu
Okay don`t know if anyone can help me on this but you never know.
I have a new harddisc in my laptop because the old one was toast. Since then i got a very very annoying sound when i plug a headset in. I dunno how to describe it (tutututu), as if something in my computer is dailing a number or so ????
The problem is that i can`t really play games on my laptop without headset because everyone else gets troubled that way. And to be `in game`a headset is much better.
Soo where does this sounds come from? any suggestions?
i`m a total computer-noob so it could be something silly.
help me
Posting this was very inspiring: i found a temporary solution -> there is a volume switch on the `ears`, if i turn that to minimal and my volume on the laptop itself very high i get a decent sound. if it`s healthy for the comp i dunno.
but still: it might be handy if someone says: just put that off and the tietietie disappears

tietietie? I thought it was tututu. heh. Sorry man, no idea. Have you tried a different headset? Does it do it through regular speakers, or just the headset?

test
weird stuff: guess my cookies are bothering me as usual. after a lot of tries here`s my post:
Okay i got a dutch windows version so don`t know the english names but in my `phone and modem-options` or something someone has filled in some things like netnumber and such so it could be that this is trying to dial.
Just removing this seems ehm .. dangerous but i can`t seem to pick a `disable`option or something.
Now what?? remove folder?

You can try to zip that folder for example and try out whether a: the tutututu still occurs or b: your internet stops working. If any of these happen then unzip it again.
Note: I've never done this but it seems like a safe way of testing to me.

The thing is, it`s in my configuration and i only seem to be able to open it or make a short cut.
and i`m not sure if it`s this thing that`s causing the sound.
i just removed the `modem`option but the tutututu is still there. not much things i can do in this.
ah well
*edit* wanted to post this and message: not connected to internet appeared aaaaah `retry` okay now it works `fieuw` now i got scared.

ok, thanks Rinox.
Right-click on the connectoid, you should have a delete option. That's how to delete dial-up connections. bitch
Or, do completely remove all dialup capabilities on your computer, go to the control panel, go to add/remove programs, go to add/remove windows components, then find 'dial up networking' (aka DUN) and just remove it entirely. No more modem, EVER! Well, until you reinstall DUN. bitch

lol, sorry man. I know how freaky the foreign versions of windows can be. Bah, I give up. Unless you wanna install a trojan horse so I can operate your computer remotely. >:)
