Dude...this is lame: we got digital TV yesterday, in a package with an internet upgrade etc etc. No probs there, everything works fine - except that I seemed to know what I was doing better than the guy from the company that came over to activate it. Anyways, as I've mentioned before this meant that my desktop - aka gaming pc - couldn't use a network cable anymore for practical reasons (it would have to run through 5 rooms with people walking in and out. Bad idea). So I went to the store and bought me a more than decent wireless USB adapter, the D-Link . Cost me about 50 euros iirc. I've been busy securing the new wireless network and getting every laptop here attuned to it and kept my desktop for last. Turns out, it came without any freaking vista 64 bit drivers. No biggie, I go to the Belgian D-link website...support & drivers page down. Go to the D-link.com page...entire site down. Go to the d-link UK page: support & drivers page down. By now it should be clear that their drivers page is connected to their 'mother' page which is MIA. LAME. I can see there are drivers that are supposed to be 64-bit compatible on the product info page, but I can't download the drivers. I checked a ton of driver sites and googled the drivers but I can't find jack fucking shit. It's only a matter of time before their website goes back up, I'm sure. Maybe even later today. But I'm pretty pissed off...it's not like I'm running some obscure OS, ffs. Yet they 'forgot' to include the 64-bit drivers with the product, and now it seems they are pretty much nowhere to be found on the intarwebz with their site out. When all the while I can see the 'windows 64 bit drivers' link luring me, and the windows compatibility site telling me that the DWA-140 is '100% compatible with Vista 64 bit'. Yeah, if you've got the effing drivers. Meh. End of rant. |

So umh, the site is back up. Except I'm downloading from their ftp at 5 kb on a 13mb file. |
