My router (linksys) keeps rebooting and I have no idea why. Well, Actually, I'd not say it was rebooting, more like loosing connection to ADSL. It happens about every 30 seconds or so, it then reconnects and repeats. It's doing it right now. I'll get you some more info on my router when it reconnects. It doesn't make sense. I figured it was over heating (it gets damned hot at times) but right now it's pretty cool, and it's not switching off, it's only loosing connection to ADSL. There it goes again! It could just be a faulty router, in which case I'll just get it swapped at the shop, but I'd like to try fix it first. Maybe there's a firmware upgrade available. It might take me a while... It keeps loosing connection!!!!!!!!! GRRRRR! Turned it on and off, seems stable... for now. Fuckin' thing. EDIT: Nope still doing it. |

losing is spelled with one O, you bastard! err..anyway...the most likely explanation is you've got a crappy ADSL connection. Diagnosing something like that without a REAL router (ie, Cisco...hehe) is virtually impossible. When you have a router like Linksys, it pretty much either works or doesn't. You can certainly swap out the router, but failure rates on equipment like that are pretty low. Still, it'll probably be faster to swap it out then to call tech support... ISP tech support is usually pretty dodgy. |

Sorry about the losing there, Oh wise one! And yeah I kinda figured - it seems to be ok now though. Been stable for about 10 minutes. I'll update you (if I can!) if it fucks up some mo'. |
