The power supply at my home is known to be whack. Voltage peaks have appearently been responsible for a lot of electrical things to go broke in this building, including computer parts. What's the best way to protect my pc from power surges? A UPS? Or is that overkill for a home computer and are there cheaper solutions? |

A surge protector in your situation would be pointless. You need a "Online UPS". A online UPS regulates the flow of power to your computer. Its cost alot more. Surge protector only protects from power spikes. |

I have also a APC smart UPS. It cost around 250$, i have my CRT monitor and my monster pc on it. Protects from spikes, undervoltage and battery support. |
