Thanks for the tip 11b...I'll give Buzzsaw a go, I desperately need a defrag anyway.
Non-Windows defrag programs are usually a lot faster, right? Or was that just my imagination.

This is a great program. Its called Buzzsaw and its free. It comes with 2 programs. dirms.exe - This is a defragmenter program that fast and better than windows defragmenter. buzzsaw.exe - This program runs in the background and defrags your harddrive as your work or play. http://www.download.com/Buzzsaw-On-The- ... ag=lst-0-1 Its easy to use. Download the zip, unzip. You dont have to install anything. To defrag click start -> run -> type: cmd At the command prompt go to the directory where you unzipped buzzsaw. to defrage type: dirms [drive] IE: dirms c Then to run buzzsaw just double click it, it will pop up in your right hand corner of your screen. Double click it and add your drives to it and your set. |

I use OO Defrag, though it's a pay one. Anyway, some of them do seem to be faster...and they all work better and are more configurable. |
