Memory
Oh look it's J posting in the general technical, he must have some stupid question to ask!
Well that's right everybody. See i have the impression that my laptop's memory is slightly failing, or something similar. And that's no fun.
What do i do now? How do i test if my memory is failing/working properly?
Jeez you're really hopeless aren't you? Okay, let's go ask the others on Clankiller forum.

Thx, as far as i can tell, there are no troubles with my memorie though. Guess i'll have to clean my computer up and see if that helps my speed.
Btw i had a 'virtual memory' too low/insufficient or something. What does that mean? Can i do something about it? Am i asking stupid questions again?

virtual memory is the fake memory that windows creates out of your hard drive. IE, if your memory starts getting full, it'll swap portions of memory out to a file on the hard drive. This is virtual memory.
If you're running low, either you have too little memory, too little hard drive space, or windows is getting screwed up. With your other issues, have you considered wiping out your machine and reinstalling windows from scratch?

Yeah, i considered the option but i just hate that. I rather continue screwing around with a half-decent working machine. The glass is half-full not half-empty here.
Anyway, i checked on my virtual memory settings, they seem fine (according to some sites i checked). I installed Ccleaner, that cleaned up a lot of stuff (over 200 Mb). Also defragmented my disk (although that didn't seem very necessary), tomorrow i'm gonna delete some more junk and free up some space. That might help things as well. I think. It might be the 'too little hard drive space' issue you're referring to.
Hope everything will work more or less in a decent way again after that.

I will, for the moment everything seems pretty okay, i deleted another 6 Gig of documents, programs etc. i don't use anymore. With only a 20 Gig disk that saves up a lot of space of course. Let's hope this baby keeps working for some time.

I think i have currenly more programs to detect/remove spyware than i have games installed. SO that's not really the issue.
Considering my computer-leetness in all other aspects it could have been that i hade a real spyware infestation though, good call.
