I wanted to know if anyone has an experience with optical mice. Optical mice going berserk and ways of solving this to be more exact.
I've had my optical mouse for some time now, and about half a year ago it started going totally crazy from time to time. Jittering to the left side of the screen and clicking away, stuff like that. Stuff that calls for reset everytime.
At first i thought it had to do with static since lightning had struck close etc. It didn't happen often (and doesn't still) so I kinda never bothered fixing.
But after yet another case in the long series I decided to take a look around and stuff. I found several entries on the net about optical mice not working properly on certain surfaces etc., and that an optical mouse mat might be the solution to the mouse freaking out. I'll probably go buy the mat in any case, but I hoped someone here would have encountered a similar problem in their pc-life.
Oh, and I obviously downed the latest drivers from the developer (Genius) but the installer is so dodgy that I'm not using them.
Freaking great support. (all the buttons like "browse", "cancel" etc. were "???")
