Baldur's Gate
There recently debuted a Baldur's Gate website. http://baldursgate.com/Not much info yet, but definitely a lot of excitement. If you view the webpage source, there's some gems hidden in the source comments too. <!-- March 5, 2012 --> <!-- Shadowy Figure- Raise Dead : Infinity Engine --> <!-- "She left me to die. YOU left me to die. But Shar... Shar wanted me to live." --> and <!-- "If you wish me dead, brother, it must be by your hand. No one else." --> Some people are thinking a re-release, some are saying a port (to mobile!?)... but who knows.

Re: Baldur's Gate
Yeah read about it.
Also read that you can now play BG1 and 2 in one run (they're tied together) or so, with BG1 in the BG2 engine (like in the tutu mod).
I think the game didn't age well enough for me to play it again though. And i'm anything but a graphics whore.

Re: Baldur's Gate
BG1 is hard to play now because of its graphics (also because of the harsh difficulty spike towards the end), but BG2 is still very much playable, especially with the high res mods! As for the new BG page...I'm looking forward to what it'll be. If it's just a phone port then I'll be slightly disappointed.

Re: Baldur's Gate
Agreed... not sure if it'll be good, but at least it's not crap for sure. And it may be awesome. Here's hoping for awesome.

Re: Baldur's Gate
Variety of modern improvements ... can't help thinking the worst of it.

Re: Baldur's Gate
According to : * 2nd edition rules (like the original) * They'll try not to break safe game compatibility * They'll try not to break any mods * They'll use the Throne of Bhaal engine (with improvements) and it will all be 2d isometric * It will be two games, BG+TotSC and BGII+ToB
So I don't think they'll change (ie ruin) the things we remember and love. On the other hand, will they change enough to make me buy the game again?

Re: Baldur's Gate
There are a few things I'd like to see: Higher resolutions supported Higher resolution graphics to accompany that Bug fixes Enhanced multiplayer - unless my memory is faulty, only 2 people could play before... allow 4. Nudity More pantaloons It'd be nice to get some value-adds, like additional quests and crap, but it would need to fit into the existing game without screwing stuff up.

Re: Baldur's Gate
Higher res would be indispensible for BG1 yeah - but I think the use of the ToB engine already solves that. You could play the game in MP with more than 2 people Satis. I've played it in a 4 or 5 man party with some of the CK people here (I controlled 2 characters). The fights actually work really well in MP, but the dialogues are a little boring for everyone but the main character because only he or she got to make most of the choice (sometimes it's someone else if the NPC adresses another party member who walked in first though). And like pev, i'm not overly excited by this yet but it's a lot better than an iphone port. I may have to buy BG for the umpteenth time soon!

Re: Baldur's Gate
Read a funny comment somewhere that falls under the category 'modern improvements':
"Buy the Jaheira & Minsc DLC now and recruit them in your party!"
