Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic
So i decided to try to give this game a run with my cousin. The result was disastrous. To start there were lots of problems with the launcher, it would display incorrect download statuses, incorrect download speeds, unable to repair it, the links to support just idled out. Then there were the problems of actually starting up the game, after clicking play it takes anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes until the client actually launches and i mean literally 5 to 10 minutes. And after that i was treated to a black screen with stars and nothing to click on, just awesome. Not to mention the countless blue screens. There are hordes of topics with the exact problems and one has to go over every single fix the users have come up with.
This game is dead, they just don't want to admit it yet.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic
Hm. Well, seeing as I probably spend upwards of 40 hours a week playing this, I'll disagree on the dying thing. Looking forward to player housing coming in August. Next week they're opening up casino gambling on Nar Shadaa or something. *shrug* We'll see. And I'm still enjoying dominating mofos in pvp star fighter battles.
The issues you describe I've never run into. I think I've installed the game on 5 machines total. It's been fairly painless. Not that there aren't bugs, but getting into the game is very rarely an issue for me. Most of the bugs are either UI issues after switching instances, or specific op mechanics the devs broke for some reason or other. I'm an officer in a progression/casual guild (along with Shiny). In the evenings we have between 10-20 people on and do something as a guild pretty much 7 evenings a week.
I currently have 13 characters, 10 of which are max level and 6 of which are hard mode operations capable in at least 1 specialization.

They're releasing a new expansion for SWTOR, which isn't that amazing news in itself but they also released the following kick-ass trailer...it's really good, basically a mini Star Wars movie/story.

Yea, I love the trailers. Haven't played the game in months. I really need to cancel my subscription.
