Other requirements needed apart from high Char and Wis are
- high strength (15 in this case)
- neutral alignement (prerequisite for druid)
Otherwise i don't see a direct possible problem.

Ahhhh! it comes to light, strength. I'm sure I had Str 18 but nevermind. I already know about the neutral bit though, slightly obvious. I'll try again in my new game.
