Re: NEO Scavenger
Huh, that's interesting. And they appear to be following the Minecraft development strategy. I love the modern world sometimes.

Re: NEO Scavenger
Hehe. Seems like these small niche indie-but-maybe-not completely games with ideas that are "out there" are popping up everywhere lately. Before too long we'll be so busy simulating surviving in the post-apocalyptic world that we'll be too engrossed to actually cause one anymore. Nah, we'll always find an idiot for that I'm sure.

Re: NEO Scavenger
Haha, a little later than I expected but with the right response. The browser-based demo is a bit too small and fidgety for my taste, but I'll be looking forward to the progress this makes as a full game. On a big screen I think I might enjoy it.

Re: NEO Scavenger
Yeah i played about 15 mins of it. Didnt want to progress further really because its only a demo.
Not bad though I must say. Reminds me of Stalker. I wonder how big the world is.
There are encounters and then theres the hex exploration mode.
I like how theres a shit load of stuff to scavenge, but it was a bit weird how I couldnt hole up on some nearby ruins and resting without getting hypothermia. I would have assume it would be possible to start a fire... but i guess would a newbie know how to do that, especially if its raining and he only has a lighter? I guess its realistic.
Its not like Baldurs Gate whereby you have a cost nights sleep by simply hitting R (or L... cant remember which).
Gonna play some now.

Re: NEO Scavenger
The demo is stupidly hard.
Cant find a way to heal my injuries.

Re: NEO Scavenger
Wait... did derf just complain that a game was too hard?

Re: NEO Scavenger
More to the point: a game about survival being too hard! I don't know about healing other than to rest, but then I never played the game so long that I had to.

Re: NEO Scavenger
Hard in the sense that the encounters often rape you. The demo doesnt have save functionality, so getting far in the demo means having a good (lucky) start. Ie, no encounters with looters that get a lucky punch in and cripple you.
Anyway, im considering spunking 10 dollars for access to the beta, with access to the full game once its done.
Detailed browser based realistic looting games ftw.

Re: NEO Scavenger
Yeah, it's not very intuitive from that perspective.
