Post Stalker: Pripyat
Very much prompted by the screenshot and article on RPS, I went ahead and spunked £10 on Pripyat, because frankly, Stalker 1 was very much my bag.

Surprised to hear theres a large modding effort behind these games, and these are the kind of games that benefit most from mods. Apparently, there is 1 called "Stalker Complete" which is WIP, so I will keep my eye on it.

I'm downloading a 250MB mode caller SMRTER which apparently adds a dickload of changes.

I also downloaded the mod hinted at on RPS "Total_Faction_War" weighing in at 150MB.

Unfortunately, I installed Pripyat last night and it wouldn't fire up at all, which is really odd cos I generally have no problems with games at all. I'll re-install it today but if it doesn't work, i'm gonna be miffed.

Anyway, can't wait to play this since I liked Stalker so much but felt ultimately limited by the linear nature and un-replayability. Hopefully these mods will open it up. Especially given that Pripyat is the 3rd installment of the series, this could be epic.

Of course, none of this helps me progressing with the games that i bought / received during Steam sales period (Cryostatis, Space Rangers 2, Condemned).
