Ooh sweet! I'm anxious (but in a positive way) on how the hex tiles will play out, and the whole looks good. I just hope it'll not be so buggy at launch as Civ IV was.

But my current TBS kicks are coming from Solium Infernum. Currently in a multiplayer game with 6 peeps, and it's so fucking good. I think you guys would both love it, tbh. It's intricate, cool and doesn't require you to invest a lot of time (about 5 minutes a day if you really want to play fast, but you could potentially even wait for days to answer).

I could probably get 2 friends of mine in on it too - that would mean we'd be almost a full party for a full MP game. But hey, just sayin'. :P

Oh and lol @ all the "sweet, wish they'd make Alpha Centauri 2 though" remarks in the RPS comment thread of the article. It's true...a second Alpha Centauri would be the coolest thing ever. Modifiable terrain! Design your own units! Actual diplomacy! Ideology-based rather than nationality-based differentiation! etc etc. AC was the most innovative Civ(-like) title since, well Civ 2.
