America's Army 3? Was there an America's Army 2? I remember playing the original... it was actually quite good, though it was a camperfest.

Yeah i didnt play AA online. I only did the tutorial, but loved it to bits.
This AA3 video i like. I like the emphasis about gameplay and zero BS about graphics.

Yea, I agree. The fact it's not for-profit makes the production values so very different. The graphics look decent... the fact the maps are going to be really big is awesome. The cramped nature of the maps in the last one were a major bummer. I'd also love to see more large-scale unit tactics... like a platoon or two broken up by squads, converging on a single objective, or several objectives. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing quality of the first one... I'm hoping this one is as good.

I think the topic should be splitted now.

I'm suspicious about any game developed with government money. Trust me, I work for a government. And the army's facist and authoritarian tendencies don't really go down well with me either.

Bah. The army and the government are the root cause of all kinds of wonderful things. Penicillin? Army. Internet? Government. M&Ms? Army. Tang? Government. Just because you don't ever want to turn your back to em doesn't make them COMPLETELY evil.
Anyway, I'll definitely be getting a copy of AA3 when it comes out. No doubt.

America's Army 3 is set for a June 17th release and will be available via Steam, though I'm certain it'll be available outside of Stream as well. Freeof course, paid for by my tax dollars (and probably one of the more worthy things those have been spent on).

opflash2 and arma2 are separate games? Pardon my ignorance, but I thought they were one and the same.
Regarding differences, I'm certain AA3 will be more small-unit tactics in cramped environment with no player-controlled vehicles. Opflash/arma2, on the other hand, will be vastly larger scale and include fully controllable vehicles. At least, that's my understanding. Both should be decent, I think.

That would explain my confusion. Silly bastards. Whatever, I'll wait for reviews and, if they're both good I'll buy em both. Can't get enough realistic murder.
