Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
3 hours played, wanting to play more. Had to look some things up (like how to fuck do i build a house!) since there isn't really a tutorial or so, just an annoying guy that's supposed to give you tips.
It's probably a lot like minecraft of dwarf fortress, but 2D.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Thanks to Peltz for Hoard and Foxie Oxie for Dwarfs!. Unfortunately so far I have not been able to get Hoard to run on my box. Something about my graphics card /pout yet all my other games run just fine. Satis has a theory but I have not whined enough for him to investigate it just yet. So thanks guys!!!

You're (all) welcome. I'm doing a freelance translation job so not on steam much atm, but I checked the community page and lol @ J's Terraria obsession. Really nice to see you like it that much tho!

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
I'm hoarding tons of stuff, haven't even started to build me a proper house. If you're a tiny bit OCD like me, this game is terrible! Timeconsuming that is, i'm loving it though. As you probably noticed, played 12 hours or so yesterday and today, wonder how many i can get in tonight. Tomorrow the wife is home (and so are the kids), so i can go cold turkey.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
*checks J's time played since that post* I'm actually quite tempted by Terraria, having talked to J and checked out the game online a bit. Apparently you can even "visit" each other's worlds to do stuff in co-op. Sounds awesome tbh. Unfortunately, it only seems to be distributed by Steam so no use in looking for discounts elsewhere. Btw, D2D has different summer deals every day...might be good to keep track of them http://www.direct2drive.com/promos/summer-sale/

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Steam's having a quakecon sale. you can preorder Skyrim or Rage and get stuff for TF2, plus they have a Quakecon pack of a butt ton of games for $70. Steam claims a whopping 86% off, but I'm not sure how they came up with that number, since not a single game is actually 86% off or higher... not sure how the aggregate can possibly be 86% BRINK Released May 9, 2011 -50% $49.99 $24.99 Call of Cthulhu®: Dark Corners of the Earth Released Jun 16, 2009 -25% $9.99 $7.49 Commander Keen Released Aug 3, 2007 -25% $4.99 $3.74 DOOM 3 Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $19.99 $9.99 DOOM 3 Resurrection of Evil Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $9.99 $4.99 DOOM II Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $9.99 $4.99 Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition Released Dec 17, 2009 -25% $29.99 $22.49 Fallout New Vegas: Dead Money Released Feb 22, 2011 -25% $9.99 $7.49 Fallout New Vegas: Honest Hearts Released May 17, 2011 -25% $9.99 $7.49 Fallout New Vegas: Old World Blues Released Jul 18, 2011 -25% $9.99 $7.49 Fallout: New Vegas Released Oct 19, 2010 -25% $19.99 $14.99 Final DOOM Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $9.99 $4.99 Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders Released Aug 3, 2007 -25% $4.99 $3.74 HeXen II Released Aug 3, 2007 -25% $4.99 $3.74 HeXen: Beyond Heretic Released Aug 3, 2007 -25% $4.99 $3.74 HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel Released Aug 3, 2007 -25% $4.99 $3.74 Hunted: The Demon’s Forge™ Released May 30, 2011 -25% $49.99 $37.49 Master Levels for Doom II Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $9.99 $4.99 QUAKE Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $9.99 $4.99 QUAKE II Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $9.99 $4.99 QUAKE II Mission Pack: Ground Zero Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $4.99 $2.49 QUAKE II Mission Pack: The Reckoning Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $4.99 $2.49 Quake III Arena Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $19.99 $9.99 QUAKE III: Team Arena Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $19.99 $9.99 Quake IV Released Aug 4, 2011 $19.99 QUAKE Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $4.99 $2.49 QUAKE Mission Pack 2: Dissolution of Eternity Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $4.99 $2.49 Return to Castle Wolfenstein Released Aug 3, 2007 -25% $9.99 $7.49 Rogue Warrior Released Dec 1, 2009 -25% $19.99 $14.99 Spear of Destiny Released Aug 3, 2007 -25% $4.99 $3.74 The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind® Game of the Year Edition Released Jun 16, 2009 -25% $19.99 $14.99 The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion® Game of the Year Edition Deluxe Released Jun 16, 2009 -25% $24.99 $18.74 The Ultimate Doom Released Aug 3, 2007 -50% $9.99 $4.99 Wolfenstein 3D Released Aug 3, 2007 -25% $4.99 $3.74 $307.16

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Mine sais 65% off entire pack and 50% off of individual titles. Probably EU laws that prohibit straight out lies . But then again i dont have Rage OR Skyrim listed anywhere.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
I don't understand that fancy new math you folks are teaching in school nowadays. Anyway, different sale items each day of Quakecon (which is 4 days). BTW, Skyrim and Rage have absolutely no discount associated with them, just free TF2 items. But I think you can get a free TF2 item by adopting a cat or helping an old person across the street.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Hehehe, true that. Of course, since you need to pay 50 bucks for a preorder to get those items, they'll be rare than others and thus more valuable than most in the tf2 trade economy. These don't look all that interesting anyway (the items, not the games). And Id's discount is good, but because most of their games are still insanely expensive (Morrowind 20 bucks, really?!) they're mostly worthless. Doom II is still 5 dollar with the discount and Commander Keen 4 dollar. I mean, they are like what, 20 years old? Jeez.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
67% off, and you save an additional 33% if you preorder Skyrim? So, you get the first pack for free? Why not just say that? Or is 33% of 67%? Confusing Id sales!

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Ox, i could see rage and skyrim while i was in Finland, i could even add them to my wishlist and now back home i cant see them nor access them through wishlist. Time to sue Steam for discrimination based on nationality.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
Haha! Told you that might be the only difference. it sure is weird though...I mean Estonia is EU and only a few miles away, so it's bizarre. Btw, Steam trading beta is now on...allows you to trade spare "gift" copies, tf2 and portal 2 hats. So you can trade games for hats IN STEAM, or trade extra copies of games for other people's extra copies. All quite ingenious! I'm thinking I'm gonna start trading my two most expensive TF2 hats for a 25€ game. ALL THESE HATS ARE FINALLY PAYING OFF HAHAHAHA. Ahem.
