Yeah we're taking pre-orders on it at work.

[quote="Arathorn"] Also, performance wasn't great (and please, can I save during missions? I've got a hard drive for god's sake). /quote]
Ah, true. I do agree with you on the first points, but the one i've quoted above I think is a positive aspect about the game. I dislike being able to save whilst in a mission in most games because it takes away the challenge. Checkpoints or Save points however, are preferred.

I'm ok with checkpoints/save points as long as they're often enough and AFTER cut scenes, not before! Gears of War had a serious problem with that.
Anyway, I liked all the pc ports of GTA titles. They had their short comings, but overall they were pretty good. GTA:SA wasn't as cool as GTA:VC though...it just felt so planned out where VC felt more organic. Might just be me though.

Sand Andreas Sucked - someone gave us 2 copies in one box as a trade in at work, so I nicked one thinking maybe I'll give it a second shot.
Yes, it still sucks. The graphics were such a downgrade, the black gang culture pisses me off, and the controls just didn't work as nicely.

I liked San Andreas. GTA3 was plain boring and that Miami Vice stuff never interested me, but I really enjoyed SA's over the top gangster nonsense. The music was a lot better too, especially on the old-school hip hop station and the house music station.

oh hell, I thought GTA3 had the best music. It wasn't all licensed popular music. I dunno, when they started licensing the music for VC and then SA it just lost some of its charm. At that point I might as well just listen to MP3s.
Anyway, I liked SA and the gangsta stuff was cool. It was a little slow getting started but some of the parts were pretty awesome, like the gang warfare and stuff was fun. The graphics were nothing special. In fact, I think GTA3 was the only one that really impressed me graphically.
But GTA3 had horrible map layout. On the other hand, it was possible to find insane jumps. The map layout in VC was better but there weren't any just totally awesome jumps. SA had a crappy map layout AND no insane jumps. Unless you count the jump at the top of the mountain.
