Max Payne 3
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/maxpa ... es;title;1
Well apparently Max Payne 3 is in the works and as i have the title on the track list at gamespot it notified me of new screenshots. After looking through all the pics i must ask, who the hell is that fat ugly guy and why is he on the pictures and perhaps more importantly, where is Max?

The fat ugly guy is supposed to be Max and the ugly scenery is because the new developer wanted a new direction.
I really don't like series being taken over by new developers. I know that legally most franchises are owned by distributors but to me the original developer is always the party with creative license.

yea, the fat guy is supposed to be Max, older and even more jaded. Whatever... it's not looking like Max Payne to me. The original two were special... this looks like crap trying to cash in on a good name. We'll see... maybe the game will stand on its own, but I'll be surprised.

And glad all you guys agree that this looks like it's gonna be gash - not as a game AS SUCH perhaps, but as Max Payne 3.
Over on RPS (rockpapershotgun) there was a whole row between people who felt it didn't look like MP anymore and people who dismissed the others as 'haters' or 'angry internet men' for hating the new direction the series seems to be taking.
Me, I think the MP story was finished with MP2. Everyone's dead except for Max, and he finally has the redemption he's been looking for so long. That final sentence
'I had a dream of my wife last night. She was dead. But it was allright.'
Is the end of years and years of self-destructive behavior, of dangerous liaisons (Mona) and excruciating guilt. But he finally accepts it.
So, wtf, he goes to Brazil, gets hooked on junk and is now totally old, fat and bald? Wtf? The only reason they could SOMEWHAT motivate this direction change (or even continuation of the series as such) is by having his wife come back from the dead and tell him that some Sao Paolo slumlords were resonsible for her death, not Vlad and Nicole Horn.
So yeah, bullshit. Might not be a bad game, but it's not MP.
